looking for uis reference

Monday, May 27, 2002 by moshi | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

i downloaded the latest trial of WindowBlinds and i like it a lot better than previous versions. now i am working on my second skin, but my problems with SkinBuilder remain. i tends to crash every second time when i try to add an attribute or section. also it pretends to save my changes without any error message but just does not change the uis file
so i end up doing most of the real changes in a text editor copy and pasting from the SkinBuilder code-view. no big deal but the inability to add attributes and sections sucks pretty much. so i am asking if there is something like a complete quick reference for the uis format. i am not really looking for tutorials as tutorials tend to be incomplete and often not fully up to date.
any help would be much appreciated.

Here's a collection of all the docs: http://www.windowblinds.net/skinning/

The link called 'UIS2 Referrence' has all the settings for the UIS in a list. Very handy guide...

This will sound weird but the way I fixed the crashing problems was to do an uninstall of both WB and Skinstudio and then reinstalled:

1. In Display Properties set "Prevent WindowBlinds from loading on startup".

2. Reboot.

3. Go to Component Manager and uninstall both WB and SkinStudio

4. Reboot.

5. Go back to Component Manager and reinstall both WindowBlinds and SkinStudio.

6. Reboot.

7. In Display Properties remove the check in "Prevent WindowBlinds from loading on startup". (Truthfully, I don't remember if I had to do this).

I don't know why it worked but I haven't had a crash since I did it.

You can also get a UIS reference from SkinStudio. Just load up a UIS2 skin and go to Help/Generate Documentation.
