WinCustomize, huh?

I'm totally new here, so I don't mind sounding like a clueless pinhead. I searched these forums, Google and haven't got any information on what WinCustomize is or what each separate package does? Can someone point me towards a link or PDF, whatever, that would enlighten me and hopefully educate me? How much does this cost? Is it a lifetime membership or yearly? I was told I could change the whole look of Win7, meaning font size, background colors etc.? My disability effects my eyesight in different ways and was told WinCustomize will allow me to do what I need, but they didn't bother telling me how this works.
I'd appreciate any and all help

WinCustomize is one of Stardock's several websites. It showcases Stardock's customizing software (Wizard1956 gave you that link). Stardock also makes gaming software.
Subscription now (right now) costs $9.95 for a year. This will allow you unlimited downloads from all of the Galleries, GianRoss.

I stumbled upon the Stardock programs by accident a few years ago and couldn't believe how good you could make your desktop look. (This was in the days of XP, which I still find very repulsive). Most of the "skins" are free because a lot of talented artists contribute their time for nothing.
From time to time, someone encounters a technical problem, and a small army of people emerge to sort it out. As Quicksilver mentioned, people here really make an effort to solve the problem, and don't give up until it's done.

Is the $9.95 you speak of DrJBHL separate from the $49.95 Wizard1956 mentioned? Is the $9.95 charge for me to be able to purchase the Object Desktop, what's it for? Will the use of any of these packages effect how Win7 runs (load time, stability etc.)? Also, I'm assuming most of the customizing will be resource intensive, is the a RAM or processor recommendation?

$9.95 is for a Wincustomize subscription. It is to support the site and you will get discounts on Master skins.
Object Desktop is $49.95 and renewals are currently $24.95 As a current customer, you also get unlimited downloads from WinCustomize.
I've run into very few problems on XP, Vista32/64 or Win7/64. Stardock builds their software to run on a very wide range of machines. If in doubt you could post your specs.

I'm not really worried about my specs, at least I hope not. I just didn't want to be surprised by out of the ordinary bottlenecks. I have:
i7-2600k
ASUS P8P67 motherboard
8GB RAM
EVGA GTX 570

Just keep in mind any free versions you use then decide to buy be sure to uninstall the free version before installing the bought version,it'll save any ball's up's later

Hello and welcome to WinCustomize. This is a user centered site and the home of some of the best skinners on the planet.
The software side is Stardock. What you want to check out is HERE. There are many different programs available and most focus on customizing one particular element of Windows. (logon, visual style, animated wallpapers, cursors, etc.
The best value is with Object Desktop,a package of all the good stuff. WindowBlinds and many others have trial versions. While CursorFX and ObjectDock are not part of OD, they have free versions, or paid versions with enhanced features.
Object Desktop is a yearly subscription which gives you all updates and new versions while your sub is active. If the sub expires the software is still yours to keep, minus any new updates.
Take a look around, if you have questions, that's what these forums are for. I was a clueless pinhead a few years ago myself and now I'm hopelessly hooked on customizing my desktop.
Warning, Skinning your computer can be habit forming.
