About account editing and emails.

Saturday, May 18, 2002 by goodmorphing | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I changed to a more reliable email server recently. I changed my address here, got my confirming mail, clicked on the URL, logged in here. But last night the newsletter (great job, by the way!) went to my old addy. Do I need to change it somewhere else too? When I looked at my account, it had gone back to the old listing.

Also, I clicked on my name and I saw my address listed. I went back to edit my account to find a way to hide it but I couldn't. Is it only me who can see that, or is it everyone. I don't generally make that much personal stuff available. I should change to a more anonymoous address if it has to show like that.

Oh shoot. I just clicked on my name again and it showed my old MSN address. What am I doing wrong? I have changed it and followed all the steps many times.

Try it again, the email address? It is displayed to everyone who clicks your name.

Try deleting your cookies and logging on again.

YIKES! Thanks for telling me. I can change it to my goodmorphing hotmail account but I have the settings on that account set to exclusive (so I have to change that or I won't get the confirmation email).

I will toss those cookies!

Thanks!

Hmmmmm... changed, reponded to that email, logged in successfully, but still I see the msn addy. Do you guys see goodmorphing? I guess I have a resistant cookie or something I have to track down. Thanks.

did you make a new acount with "goodmorphing" instead of "GoodMorphing"? if so, you are logged in on the latter...

When I click on my name, and when I go to edit my account I still see MSN. But you see goodmorphing now? I forget if I used caps or not, I was starting to get frustrated. I used my internet tools and dumped all off line content but my history is still there. They are not the same thing? I also use a program winpatrol that saves some cookies and blocks ones I don't want. I even thought to take wincustomize out of there but maybe it is hanging on real tight.

The important thing is that it changed, even if I cant see it. That makes me feel safer. Thanks.

Something is a little wonky on my computer right now. My deletions and uninstalls are not sticking. I uninstalled that winsweeper (until I get more space on my computer), but it still sweeps away every time I sign on. Since that windows critical upgrade I have to reboot a lot, and a lot of sweeping is going on!

Thanks again.

no, I don't see the lower case one, just the one with the initial caps, and it has the MSN email for you. When you logon to the site you do so with your email address. It should be impossible for the email address to be the wrong one. Have you logged out and logged back on?

To delete cookies I usually go into the two different directories that store them and select and delete.

Well, if you see an MSN account then it didn't change. I have logged out and in and changed it and logged in through their confirming email numerous times. Maybe the thing to do is to delete this account, and make a new one. I was looking for the account deletion button.

Thanks for helping me!
