Paintshop or photoshop seeing how i have the money now plz give oppions

Paint Shop Pro is definitely a capable program (I started out using PSP myself too), and worth the cash, but the fact is, if you can afford Photoshop then go for it. When I made the upgrade from PSP to PS, it was one of the best purchases I'd made.
Also, if you wanna save some cash, I believe Gimp is a great graphics prog. It's free, and everything I hear about it is all good. Never used it myself, but I don't think I've ever heard a bad word against it.

Photoshop is the best, but it needs maybe a life time for been able to have full control on it.

Unless you are a graphics designer, I just don't see how the cost of Photoshop can be worth it. Have a look at Photoshop Elements, maybe.

Well, here's another opinion It depends on what you are going to do with it. Photoshop is obviously the best of the best, but many skinners are quite happy with Paintshop Pro. As a Web deveolper, my company has purchased PS for me, so I didn't have to save up $650. But if I did, I would probably settle for PSP, at least for a while. I believe it is only around $100, so you won't have to save up nearly as long.

Oops, I missed the "i have the money now" part. If you're willing to part with that kind of cash, go for PS. But you can get a lot of other stuff with the $500+ you would save by getting PSP.

Photoshop isn't worth it for making skins. I consider PSP to have a better UI and more usable features, but that might just be because I'm used to it. My advice is buy PSP and splash out on better components at the same time, as you'll percieve a greater benefit.

I started out with psp, and loved it. It's really good for most stuff, it's conveniently priced, and the built in image browser s great when you're trying to see "everything" you're working on all at once but don't want to open up a outside program. It's also a lot lighter on resoources.
But I most definately prefer PS. After I started using it I realized psp had been allowing me to take the easy way out in a lot of things.... which really wasn't helping me at all. I've also noticed that PS seems to be a lot more precise in most things. There are also a lot more built in features that just, in general, make it a much better program.
If you're doing this as just a hobby, I'd say go for psp. But if you're thinking of a graphics career when you get older, learning PS now would really help you out later.

I guess I'm just Bass ackwards My company purchases PS for us and I use it some but, I started with PSP with version 2.0 I think, ( showing my age a little) and I have updated with each new version since. I definatly prefer it to PS or corel stuff..
PSP is a windows program and therefore it is written for a windows user. Things are in a logical place and do the expected things. PS is a mac program and there for it is set up to be logical for a mac user, at least that's how it seems to me...

I liked the way PS didn't support a scroll wheel till version 6. Even in 6 right click support was very weak. I have heard that it is better in 7 but have yet to try it.
