a 3d window manager? Is this for real?!?!

I got bored one day and decided to see what was out there in terms of different window managers (for linux) and i came across this site: http://www.3dwm.org Well naturally I was curious as to how a three dimensional approach to managing sessions would look. I must say I was quite disappointed. I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting, as the concept is kind of wierd, but I can assure you that the screenshots I saw on this site were nothing short of depressing. Quite frankly, i don't want to be able to skew my windows so much i can't read them. Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone out there thinks this is a nifty idea, and if they do, what do you think could be done to improve it? This idea of managing your programs in a 3d environment is really fascinating to me, and I'd like to see it evolve into a sweet looking gui. Anyway, lemme know what you think. Peace.

Checked out the link and I think it will be a long time before any of these interfaces are of any use..I expected an interface similar to the joke they used in the Jurrasic Park movie...not even close...
I once had an idea for a 3D code debugger that would allow you to visually navigate through code execution...from function to function...carrying your luggage (stack, heap, etc...) with you...never got around to implementing it though...to busy having to work for a living...maybe someday....

i totally missed frogboy's post about 3d desktops, but yeah, i agree, they're very complex to code and probably take up more system resources than are necessary. Oh well.... can't say I'm too disappointed.
