How you make such cool graphics????

i know most of you guys must be like graphic desine majors but im only 13 but i have ideas and a have fireworks...but i dont know how to make all the cool stuff..so can anyoone help me either responed or email me @ [email protected] thanx :]

Now hold on just a durned minute youthsmooth... did you say gimp was a fake? I really don't want to get mad at you for being ignorant and stubborn, but dude, gimp is a great program that is FREE, and if you are using photoshop, flash, fireworks, paintshop, any of those, without registering them then you are a THIEF. Many people put in hard hours into coding those programs.... they don't just exist. And to keep those programs being updated and continuing to produce new versions, they rely on people purchasing their software as opposed to downloading it off of kazaa and saying crap like "oh its not illegal yet." Listen kid, that PROVES you know that its both morally wrong and illegal! So don't lay the "oh i'm just a kid, i can do whatever because i can't afford the programs" That does not excuse you. And gimp was not just rescripted, photoshop is NOT open source, so SOMEBODY had to write all the code that allows people to make cool graphics, and those people are doing this FOR FREE, they are not being paid. They are doing it for the benefit of people like YOU who want to be able to use professional quality programs, without dropping thousands of dollars on programs. Granted photoshop is better, but thats what PAYING the developers will do. I suggest you re-evaluate your morals and ask yourself if you are mature enough to own a computer. Its better you learn right now than when you are older that there are responsibilites that every user should uphold. As a developer, if I put in the time on a program I would like to be paid for it. It is true that I help out with open source programs as side projects. I do that so people LIKE YOU can afford to use high quality programs without breaking the law and forcing developers to lose money. So don't be an ingrate... THINK about what you are doing, all of your actions have consequences, no matter how small they seem. Many people have forgotten that, and it is very unfortunate.

ok fine i have the money to buy paintshop pro 7 and since i am greatly hated here i will go buy it hoping you will forgive my ignorence.

youthsmooth...you are not 'greatly hated here'...all people are trying to do is give you the benefit of their more extensive experience in subjects such as computers, graphic programs, copyright law, Warez and its taboo.

As you have discovered, if the Gimp doesn't suit, and Photoshop is too expensive, there is always PaintShop Pro....[that's what I use]....

i have paint shop pro 7 & i love it jst dont have any clue how to do cool things....anyone no somewhere where there are lessons on skinning?

Not on skinning specifically, but check out www.guisoft.com - they have a couple tutorials on doing some cool things with PSP

cool... I've seen some great stuff done with the Gimp. It won't limit you in any way, it's a very powerful program.

Youthsmooth, I know you received a bit of a thumping - all well intended and absolutely correct - but I do empathize with your desire to learn and "create". As was said earlier, you don't necessarily need a string of qualifications in graphic design, or even drawing, to produce something admirable. If you have passion, some ideas that excite you and are prepared to practice lots... you'll get there! Find a friend who likes to draw; join a local art class - or just get a sheet of paper and a pencil and start sketching. Look carefully at everyday objects surrounding your computer, note the way light reflects on shiney objects, and how and where shadows are cast. Pick simple shapes such as squares, rectangles and circles; fill them with different textures and then make them look "lifelike". Be brave; find a mentor; practice. But, more than anything, have fun! And then, even if you haven't mastered the technical aspects of creating a skin, team-up with someone who already has those skills - ie you provide the "creative idea", they apply it to SkinStudio. Just make certain your creations are truly your own - NEVER copy other people's designs without their written permission. Good luck, lad, and enjoy your journey of discovery. We all look forward to seeing your artistic creations on these pages one day.

Hi Youthsmooth, welcome to WinCustomize! I have read all the posts above and would like to say that you have a definite advantage. You are young. I didn't get my first computer until I was 42 years old, and that was only about three years ago. I quickly got into making my desktop look cool, and wanted to make my own stuff too. My relatives very kindly gave me cash for my 43rd birthday and I bought Photoshop. In this fairly short time I have taught myself lots of things, and I love what I do. I may not be one of the most downloaded artists around, but I get a kick out of every single download that I get. You have a great opportunity to become one of the better artists of the future because time is on your side, and if you continue your interest and your study, you could be the next Treetog in a few short years.
My advice is: look at every tutorial you can get your hands on, and look at everybody elses work and see if you can reproduce it with what you have.
If you type "PSP tutorials" into any search engine (like www.google.com) you will get a massive list of free help that you will find invaluable.
