Some Interesting (?) Statistics

I know we've beat this to death a few times before, but a little discussion on IRC tonight prompted me to do some research.
While these stats are only on my skins, I would not be surprised to find that many other author's stats are similar.
My total downloads here at WC - 174,505
Comments left on my skins @ WC - 166
Thats an average of 1,051 d/s for every comment.
My total downloads at LOS - 9,195
Comments left at LOS - 64
Average of 143 d/l per comment.
Downloads at skinz - 17,014
Comments - 1
I think you can figure out that ratio.
I'm curious as to what everyone thinks is the difference between these sites that causes such drastically different results when it comes to things like this.

LOS used to give pts for commenting on posts. I think giving points for doing stuff on the site would encourage more socializing.

Actually, it only has to do with popularity.
All kinds of people come to this site, the Windowblinds users who just come, download and leave (vast majority) as well as the more socially involved people.
Where the casual downloaders don't even know LOS exists, resulting in a much more "social" crowd.
You should look at the actual amount of comments you get, not the proportion of dl/comments. That way, you find that there are actually more people here that left you comments.
