Bryce Wallpaper refused

Could one of the moderators or art critics show me Bryce WP that dose'nt look like it was made in Bryce.There are about 6 Bryce WP's in the last 20 uploades.
And a suggeston, maybe after a period of time(2 Months) the skins or wallpapers should be deleated. Or if after 2 weeks a skin or WP does'nt get a certain number of downloades it could be taken off then there would be more room for new work.
Not all of us can afford Max and there are limits what you can do wiyh booleans and metaballs.
I thought this site was for the people. Let the people decide what is crap or not

I'm not a bryce fan and haven't moderated wallpapers in awhile. We generally judge wallpapers based on its quality as..well a wallpaper. Not as a work of art. We're not an art site.

The problem with Bryce is that after a while it all looks the same if you don't know how to master it. So yes, we're more picky when we moderate Bryce art. The first Bryce landscape looked cool, but after the 100th, it's all very repetitive; same for dolphins and chrome balls.
If you want to see good Bryce art, go to Digital Pinnacle (http://www.halcyon.com/alrives/brycetips/pinnacle/index.html), a website dedicated to good Bryce art.
Look especially at these images. The day you can do that, you'll have no problem getting a Bryce wallpaper through here:

I am curious it seems that people look onto bryce as only a means to create landscapes. Yes majority of what is created in the app is landscapes but there is a vast world on non-landscape images that are created in bryce. For example 95% of the work I do is in bryce and there was only 2 landscapes even built. As for this not being an art site, hmm I do question that, considering the amount of artistic talent that goes into the skins, walls, logins, and etc to enhance the look of ones computer. The ability to enhance the look of something beyond its original appearance is an art form. What surprises me is that in the comments and the long list of links above, there are some excellent examples of images and extreme talent created in bryce, but what about all the art work on this site that is non-tradiational and was created in the app. I rarely ever voice my thoughts in this specific community for the focus of the community differs from my line of interest, but at the same time I feel everyone that downloads, uploads, and comments is a part of the community. Personally the moderating system on this site has not made any sense to me at all. When I first ventured over here from the collapse of skinz.org the categories where full of extremely unique creations. Since that time the levels have changed on and off with no straight structure that I have seen. I do think this is a good community and offers some wonderful outlets for skinners and digital artists. But note that just as some people look down on bryce because of the landscapes, lets not forget the photoshop swirls, the binary layers, and so many other things that have saturated the communities. With each style there are some exceptional peices that stand out above all the rest. Ok I am babbling, like usual, but I do see that the admins have their choice of what is accepted and what is deleted, that is the right of being an admin, but some stable structure to the moderating system would be nice.

hehe - I had typed in a long winded response and accidently deleted it... funny you showed up Mobius, I was responding to expunge earlier with a comment about how he should look at your work for a great example of how original and creative Bryce can be - and then I got sidetracked...
I think our biggest fault in moderating is sometimes we're too lenient. We try to be consistent but I know sometimes I post something that probably should've been moderated.

Bryce is merely a tool, just like a chainsaw....
Some people can craft wonderous ice sculptures with a chainsaw, but unfortunately, most will merely cut off a leg...
As with the wild wanton use of filters....Bryce can be a case of "click a few buttons, wait for a result, and gee-whiz, everybody.....check THIS out...".
Generally, if it takes Blind Freddie 2 seconds to create, it won't leave the starting gate.
As DavidK said, sometimes we tend to show just a little too much compassion....
And anyone wanting to see proggies such as Bryce being utilized with VISION and CREATIVITY [not to mention 'expertise'], just check out a few of MobiusCo's walls here...

Funny, that....I thought of just the same thing...after my post, but I'd called it 'Embarrassment Corner'...where examples of what made the cutting room floor were displayed as 'what NOT to do'.
But...by its very name, it'd be unlikely to ever happen....

deadman67 those would be great to see but I would recomend making sure they are dry first. but then again if you put them in the scanner when they are nice and wet, you will get an interesting effect.
Note: This is a suggestion and everyone should check with their parents before putting sticky wet things into the scanner

We get the content for free, man. Considering the guys at Stardcok foot the bill, they should have the final say on what's acceptable and what isn't. They can't host an unlimited number of files, so they have to have a rule system to determine what makes it on the site.
