newcomer to making skins

can someone please help me and tell me how to make new skins for xp? I am very new to it all and would really like to have a try.

Download SkinStudio, open up a skin you like, save it with a new name, and edit it. Make sure you change every single image so you're not reusing anyone elses work. This is how I started. It is very important not to reuse anyone elses images without permission if you plan to upload it.
