WinXP Skins = help!

Tuesday, February 26, 2002 by Jakal | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Hey out there in the know! I have a question that I know is probably pretty simple to answer for you guys and gals. Whenever I use WinXP blinds, and right click on my desktop for properties, that display properties window is not skinned. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change?

Thank you in advance for your input.

To let WindowBlinds skin the Display Properties control panel, find the file wb.ini in your Windows folder (C:\WINDOWS\) Right-click the file and choose 'open as text.' Below [global] add the line:
SkinDisplay=1

Now how about the 'Windows Security,' 'Computer Locked,' and 'Unlock Computer' windows?

I think they are either unhookable or deemed to be too dangerous to hook. When you need to get to them to say reboot, you really don't want things going wrong because of skinning - so it may be either the OS blocking it or a conscious decision by the WB programmers.
