I know it's Magical again. Help needed please

I am sorry to keep asking questions all the time
When you download updates and Beta's from the download manager ie DesktopX or Object bar R U supposed to delete the other version or just install over them. I ask because today in the window blinds update it says to install over the top if Beta version already installed.

Don't want to do anything rash and end up with no valid program.

Thanks in anticipation

I am FED up with this rain. I suppose you lot in the states are having brillient sunshine just now. Send some to UK please

as for updating via component manager, there are two schools of thought on this one.

some people always uninstall the old version before installing the new version.

others simply make sure that the old version isnt running before installing over the top of it.

as far as i can tell it doesnt normally make much difference. although, having said that unistalling and reinstalling can wipe out any settings you have made.

the WB you had to install over was a special case because there was a bug in the uninstaller where it would uninstall ALL installed skins along with the program

as for the weather, perhaps you need to take a different perspective on the rain.

when you come in from outside as a wet cat your well trained humans should imediately leap forward with a big fluffy towel and then spend at least 10 minutes rubbing you all over to dry you off, smooth down the spikey fur, and giving you a good tummy rub

Well I used to always uninstall before reinstalling the new version, but I got caught when all the default skins installed by default with WB also got uninstalled (with my alltime favorite XP Cobalt) and the new version did not come with any skin. So I was pissed and had to reinstall the previous version, and make a backup of my skins before starting the process again.
Since then I have stopped uninstalling first, but I don't like it. Someting in me keeps thinking that there must be some old files waisting space on my hard disk.

As for the weather, Winter is finally here, almost two months late! At last! Yeah! But it's almost over already now that it just started. Crappy year for winter lovers like me.

Thanks to all that replied I must make sure my Humans are in next time I come through the cat flap . I think the drying off is brillient but what about HOT Milk and Food.

Why is it that when you download some Desktop X themesthey say they are not valid zip archive and won't unzip.

And as for the weather well I give up. My humans only have one fire in their little cottage. Of course I take priority for heat seeking . If they are nice to me I might sit on their lap after I have got toated to warm up their chilly knees
