Msgboard Chatroom Marathon
Sunday, January 27, 2002 by Elfkura | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.
New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P
Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

goodmorphing tries to list some 'on the bright side' points....
*Now they know that they were foolish not to listen to you. That means that they should question their overall behavior towards you (but I don't know if they are bright enough).
*The new manager now should question everything else that the old one told her so other problems should resolve (but I don't know if they are fair enough)
*You get lots and lots and lots of hugs from us!
*I am volunteering fuzzy for a spankfest!

Over the last two years we have had a bespoke intranet developed by an outside "consultant" (the commas are there for a reason...). All along I said this guy was a waste of space and was customizing everything to such an extent only he could support the system. I was told to back off because I was 'getting noticed'. Ok...does it work... dunno, never been invited to have a closer look.
It has now been decided the system doesn't work (
) and something more professional is required. Now there are two of us running IT. I am PC manager (servers, PCs and network etc) and my collegue is IT Systems Manager (A/S400). A new system, cost £25000, has been purchased. What do we know of this? Well, I passed one of the salesman in the corridor once - my collegue has even less involment...I have to be quiet now because I'm supposed to keep my stress levels to a minimum. However, the first time anyone comes to me and says 'we have a problem' my answer will only have two words...

Fuzzy Logic is on holiday this week and is supposed to be resting
Fuzzy Logic is getting wound up...
feline, the only advice I have to offer is when you speak to a Manager treat them with the contempt they deserve. The only annoying part of that is they haven't the intelligence to understand the insult...

You could tell them that I ate their key to the chocolate planet already....
YOu could tell them that OC has his doors and windows far above their viewpoints.
You could remind them that they will never swim in the java lake with KG.
You could even tell them that though I volunteered fuzzy for a spankfest in your honor.... that is something they will never enjoy...
and tell them this....
********RASPBERRRRRRY*********
...tell them up close so it splashes good!

I'm awake but still tired...zzzzzz
Yesterday was a good day. I rode my bike somewhere I thought I'd never go again. One of my short evening runs, one I used to do after work, is only 10 miles - but it's 50% off road and uphill all the way there climbing to 1500ft. Yesterday afternoon I took on the challenge. It was probably the toughest bike ride I've ever had but I made it all the way

The uphill climb left me with knees like jelly and the fast rocky downhill left me with sore ribs but it felt good. As they say, no pain no gain...

I will be gone for awhile. On Monday I go in for a total thyroidectomy. My $&*%@#& thyroid has been trying to kill me for 13 years, and Monday is finally the day of reckoning. Tomorrow will be really crazy at work (I will be gone from work for 2 weeks) and I'm spending this weekend with the family, so I thought that I would post this now. Luckily, I will only be in the hospital for a maximum of two days (most likely it will only be one night, though) so I will get to recover at home.
I'm not sure how long I will be offline. I'm sure I will go stir crazy within the first week and be posting while in bed. (I have wireless at home, so I'm all set!)
Take care of yourselves and keep up the spanks and tickles while I'm gone!!!

I will leave you with smileys by Maddie:

If it is any consolation, I had the same not long ago. These days they can accomplish it with no incision to speak of.... maybe I will email the details. I was down for a short time (and that only because they insisted on giving me codeine and I am allergic... the itching from that is my worst memories, since I don't really have a scar).
Those thyroids are temperamental beasts, and these days the docs can emulate them quite well!
My thoughts and prayers will be with you... Godspeed!

I've already had thyroid surgery once. This is the second time, so it is much more complicated than the first. I also grow keloid scar tissue, so i never get a small scar. It will require steroid injections to keep the scar at bay if it reacts like it did the last time. Unfortunately, I am no stranger to all this. (I have been on Synthroid since I was 17).
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for all the kind words.
GM, I am sorry that I sounded harsh last night, I really didn't mean to. I re-read what I posted and it really didn't sound like me. I guess the stress has gotten the best of me.
I'll check back in and let you know I'm still alive after surgery.
edited due to extreme typos... fingers have decided that they don't like typing anymore...

KG... the day I ever thought you were sounding harsh, I would go and take a nap because I would know I was sensing things wrong. It's tough to think about surgery, especially a repeat. And the older one gets, the tougher it seems. We do, after all, tend to get attached to all our parts stronger and stronger through the years. ((((((HUGS)))))))) Don't you worry... OK?Reply #9298 Saturday, July 12, 2003 12:59 PM
| KarmaGirl - I will be gone for awhile. On Monday I go in for a total thyroidectomy. |
*deep sigh*
on one paw, our beloved JavaBean is going to be gone for a while
on the other paw, they are going to make her all better!!!

JavaBean, if you read this before you go in for surgery, you are going in with all the best wishes, love, support and friendship what i can muster!!! and that is a lot!!!
feline doesnt really like visits to hospitals
when i have been there, i always seem to feel ill! *slightly confused expression*
however, the key thing about hospitals is that they returned our dear fuzzy logic to us vastly improved, and soon JavaBean will be all better to!
JavaBean, during your two weeks off work, try and relax, and bask in the love, friendship and warmth of your family! if i hear you have been thinking about work, or getting stressed up, i am going to have to *SPANK* and *TICKLE* you until you beg for mercy, and promise to be a good girl in future!!!

so, i was wondering, can you make bandages out of chocolate? i think that to be on the safe side we are going to need to bandage JavaBean from head to food! after all, she is both important and precious to us, so we need to make sure that she receives the best possible care!
this has the twin bonus's that we can kiss any sore bits better (they will be all chocolatey!!! *yummy*), and JavaBean can be sure that she looks totally delectable even while tired, sore, and still healing! i mean, covered in chocolate!!! surely it doesnt get much better than that does it???

Feline, too bad you don't live here and work for Stardock. We seem to be the total opposite of where you work.
Sorry that this has happened. It must be a real pain to resolve something that should have been designed from the beginning.
