Msgboard Chatroom Marathon
Sunday, January 27, 2002 by Elfkura | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.
New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P
Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

| Q: Why do cats have tails |
goodmorphing always thought it was so they can keep their feet warm when they sleep!Reply #8865 Tuesday, June 3, 2003 2:55 AM
goodmorphing thinks that we should have a bon dance around OC's tree. It has been waaaaaay to quiet in there!goodmorphing ***accidentally*** bumps into t OC's tree just to listen to the alarm-song. Then she picks some of his prime jellybeans and leaves a trail from the outer portal to his stairs!
That should get him!Reply #8866 Tuesday, June 3, 2003 3:02 AM
| Two days without Chocolade Slagroom Vla! I am getting worried if I'll survive that. |
goodmorphing thinks it is about time we had a convention. After all, it is nearly summer and we didn't see KG's tummybuttonring yet!
And besides wolfie needs some company, feline just got older (and probably better, too), and just look how frisky FL has gotten lately. MadIce can provide the Chocolade Slagroom Vla (he has to bring lots and lots and lots of it so we can all convene for a long long time)!goodmorphing can bring a goodly stretch of beach, some sand crabs (those tiny ones... after all, they might be some of OC's long lost offsprings), and grass skirts all around!

feline detects that GM is being a very naughty girl!

feline decides to help, by providing GM with the correct list of things to bring, and things not to bring
now lets see:
clothes - don't bring any

beaches - bring lots
chocolate - bring lots and lots and lots!
and i don't think you should be bringing any sand crabs, after all, they may want to eat the chocolate, and i am not sure if there will be enough to go around as it is *giggles*
also, we don't want them detracting attention from OC.

MadIce, following the email response about DX plugins from Stardock, i have done some more digging.
basically, the comment about not using hWnd doesn't look helpful. tracing through the code of the DXTrash example, hWnd is actually set to the ID passed in to the plugin by DX when the plugin is created. look at the constructor for the CTrash class, and where it is called

also, by adding some debugging i have shown that my call to SD_SET_TEXT crashes DX on my work machine *giggles*
the only blot on all of this is that i don't have the "proper" .h here, so simply manually added the line:
#define SD_SET_TEXT 21
to the standard .h i have here. so, if i can reproduce this effect at home with the proper .h (i suspect i will be able to) then my debugging seems to show that i am calling the functions "correctly". so, presumably there is some setup state i have to go through to make this work.
feline goes back to experimenting

this is fun!

look what i just found!

d:\program files\stardock\object desktop\desktopX\SDPlugin.h
this seems to be the upto date version of the .h that you emailed me at home

there is even a document in there, but it is even older that the doc file on the website.
feline engages evil developer mode

feline skips through the chocolate forrest singing "its off to crash DesktopX we go, were off to crash DesktopX"

Just thought I'd pop in and say "Hi".
I'm swamped with email due to the WB 3.5 issue, so I don't have time to chat. Hopefully I will have more time tomorrow!

hehehe I'm trying to 'fiddle' my work pc - because of our wonderful firewall neither CM or SDC will connect without a NAT, so I'm trying a work around by downloading to backup at home then restoring at work. If that doesn't work...
Fuzzy Logic hates the new firewall - stops me running Seti too

NEW YORK - The dinosaurs and dioramas at the American Museum of Natural History will get some edible company when an exhibit on chocolate opens next week.
To whet appetites for the exhibit, museum officials unveiled chocolate sculptures of animals and artifacts concocted by New York pastry chefs on Tuesday.
"Christopher Columbus discovered a canoe that was filled with cocoa beans," said Bill Yosses of Citarella, displaying his creation, a Mayan pyramid made of chocolate and adorned with gold leaf and organic food coloring. "And his written quote is that they were so precious that if one of them fell, the Indians picked them up as if an eye had fallen out."
Other chocolate sculptures that will join the larger exhibit on the history, ecology and economics of the cocoa bean include reptiles, African artifacts and an Amazonian feather headdress.
"Chocolate" will be at the museum from June 14 to Sept. 7, and there will be lectures, tastings and other activities in conjunction with it.
The exhibit was developed by the Field Museum in Chicago.

Bit far to travel though.
Fuzzy Logic might make the effort for a chocolate dinosaur

MadIce adjusts the parasol, closes his eyes again and dreams of visiting the exhibition with all of us.
Thanks, mrs Blindbat!
