Msgboard Chatroom Marathon
Sunday, January 27, 2002 by Elfkura | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.
New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P
Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

I made a professional resume and an 'industrial' one. You might apply for some jobs you are 'overqualified' for, what happens when the personnel departments sort their incoming resumes they sort out ones with higher education. Their reasoning is that people won't stay long (tolerate a bunch of nonsense) if they are over qualified... they will soon leave. Fact is, people leave anyway. So for those jobs just don't mention your education.
If you are a vet, you can use va benefits to go back to school... sometimes there is a living allowance. These are benifits you have earned.
State employment agencies might be able to offer much the same.
A lot of times a job from temp agencies can grow into something...
goodmorphing thinks there should be a job here in planet chocolat.....

I agree with GM, you may want to tone down your resume for certain jobs. I'm sure, if you are like me, any job would be better than no job. You are probably too over qualified for some of the jobs.

Also some jobs have to go through hoops when they post. It is in their protocol that they have to advertise (and all the time they have the post effectively filled). It is an equal opportunity thing. goodmorphing discovered it is a way around the EO.... very hard to prove something you know to be true in this case.
Also, and it may feel hard to do, you might see if you could talk to a human there and see what their reason is. The more that you go in and talk, put a human face and voice to the application, the more they will respond to you as a human being goodmorphing points out that it may be good to change into a human before you do that.

Again, VA would have some, state employment has others. I am sure there are more, you just have to find them.

PT started today. I've been pushed, pulled, poked, prodded, scolded and electrified today. And I decided to walk to ad from....
goodmorphing had oooooone more tip for wolfie....
Sometimes it seems like you may just have to break in somewhere and commit work! I was about to do that just before I got my job one time. My theory was if I was there (in your case the store) and helped people so good that people would compliment me to the manager and then they would eventually be embarrassed enough to give me the job (I already knew my work was of the quality to earn many compliments). Never tested... I got a job just before I tried tahis method!

Sorry I've been gone for so long. School last semester was hard on me, and I was a wreck. Just buried myself in my room and did nothing. I'm back though, but still struggling to do a lot better in school.

Hi Elfkura..... peoples are going to be soooooooooooooo glad to see you!
I've discovered that burying yourself like that is a lot like jumping on some moebus strip....Good thing you came back! Nothing like tickling, spanking, and chocolate to pump up the ol' endorphins and enkephalins....

feline *sigh* *RASPBERRY*
why do most people reading this thread get confused?
there are only about 4 simultaneous conversations all interleaved going on at any one time.
feline sometimes wonders if it is true that male humans aren't really designed for multi-tasking

however, Tat2Chuck, if you really have read the entire thread from page one, then
, and i hear by award you a small chocolate biscuit as a reward for your staying power!
