Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Sunday, January 27, 2002 by Elfkura | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

well first thing is... horizontal tile works best with this chore.

Second thing is it is so charming and touching back here.... goodmorphing wonders how long it is going to take to read 3K+ posts?

Third thing is .... boy those scroll bars really change shape drastically with this much open. goodmorphing has a sudden fear of this thread getting so big that the scrollbar will disappear all together and I will get lost haunting the memory of the marathon.

Be careful, if you read 3k of these posts at one setting, you might not be able to get back through the looking glass.

forth thing is that along with the teensy scroll bar, the space-time covered interface and the space-remaining interface is so compressed and so confused that I have nooooo idea where I am. goodmorphing confesses that in the interest of going outside to the sun SOMETIME today, I have begun to skim some posts.

goodmorphing waves at jebland.... blinks.

Just someone leave a trail of crumbs or something....

goodmorphing turns back to the 26th day, the ninth hour, 49th minute, 55th second of March. That was when craeonics is lamenting the fate of Scooby Doo once he met scrappy....

goodmorphing gets to the 12th day of June, , the 13th hour, 17th minute, 22nd second and find that the Janitor has provided a way to read backwards and avoid loading the entire thread.

Sigh, but feline showed me this long ago... I forgot

.... I wouldn't miss this reading for the world.

goodmorphing wonders if even now I can read all of it... first load came with some technical message about timing out and such like. It went to 4/17. Second load stops sometime mid june. I may have to resort to coming at it from the other side.........

There is a community
filled with beauty, intellegence, humor
and a thread runs through it
and what a thread it is.

goodmorphing *sigh*

The message board won't let me load the whole entire thread.... I had to stop on June 18. And coming at it from the other end wouldn't work either. The best it would let me do was to go back to 11/19. goodmorphing wonders if the incentive of reading the whole entire thread is enough to take the plunge to cable?

BKB: Thank you for the kind words - i'm feeling furrier already. Goodnight GM. Anyone else that's out there too

goodmorphing beams with pride.... lookie! BKB grew fur and I helped!

Ruthven: Far as the name change, go ahead and keep calling me "Glen" ... doesn't matter to me goodmorphing didn't know "Glen" before and was just getting used to the idea of Ruth as a playmate.

Finding out that you are actually a "Glen" somehow makes you fit into this thread all the better since I will always be wondering Ruth went.... A lot of those twists and turns here.

Feline: *dracoform* points out people may not know about the staircase

Sigh... I was reading all about it and other things too and then I got locked out of the middle of the thread. Maybe if I try in the middle of the night I can get in there???? The architecture and the archeology of this thread is awesome.. not to mention the culinary aspects, and the coffee. And the people... it's a treasure back there! I didn't even get to the messages all painted up in pretty colors!

felne: *we* have just found that fuzzy has been making WB skins in his spare time!

OOOOOOO I am downloading it next... does it have signs of fresh spanking and ticklings on it?

feline looks both ways, before diving under the table fuzzy is secured to feline has heard rumors about the things people do with carrots!!!

goodmorphing "HEHEHEHEHE...." Walk soft and carry a big carrot, I always say.

Werewolf: This morning, I don't want to be 'sir' anymore...just mr.

I know what you mean. When I looked in there a long, long time ago I was having a hard time just being "me". So I was glad to find a just me option.

werewolf: is really starting to wonder about his mental health...so sad today...don't know why... Have to go apply for a job today and I just can't get myself going..just want to stay wrapped up in my house..

goodmorphing rushes to comfort wolfie.

It's a lot of things I think. This isn't exactly a happy world right now. And then this isn't exactly a happy season in an already not exactly happy world. And then the message board was downright scary for a little bit. And you pile all that on top of the other stuff in your life it is just tooo much.

goodmorphing wonders if there is anyway at all to find work in the chocolate planet?

It is really hard to keep on keeping on especially when it comes to employment when you have bad experiences. It really, really is. I will keep wishing for something happy that fits to drop into your lap. In the meantime, you have a nice selection of friendly laps here... nice tickles and cuddles.

werewolf: I've been reading through the other threads on the message board

goodmorphing **CRINGE**

'nuff said

goodmorphing doesn't want to enumerate all the sadness you mentioned. Just wants to hug wolfie and tell him that it is all cumulative.

You have a lot of personal worries now and it is natural that it gets you down. Don't discount it, and don't discount that the entire world is caught up in a plethora (is that the right word, I wonder?) of grief/strife/misery/poverty... and everything else. Don't discount any of it anywhere. All of it affects each one of us and it adds up. So, I was thinking it helps to keep this in mind.. even as you stand helpless and watch it all happen.... remember that even the lowest and meanest statements are all growing out of the same harsh environment. It doesn't mean that it is right for stuff like that to happen, it just means that goodmorphing struggles for the right concept here.... well, we're all humans riding on this little tiny world. We're just finding out how fragile it is, how threatened it is and it is scary. And it would really, really help if we could just turn to each other for big hugs and tickles and comfort. But we see all this squabbling, and bickering, and uglyness. Now, that is sadness provoking if anything is.. that at the very moments when we need most to reach out to one another we can't because we are embroiled in so much pettiness.

Sigh... I don't feel like I explained that very good.

KarmaGirl: But, it looks like some gloom has hit our message board, so I had to pop on and try and brighten it up ....Hugs and tickles to everyone!

goodmorphing OOOOO thank you! You too.... I am glad you are having fun with the new computer!

werewolf - I've been reading through the other threads on the message board...so much negativity, anger, name calling.... I cringe

feline suggests you do what i do
don't read the negative threads
goodmorphing has noticed that some benign sounding threads are booby-trapped!

CLICK >>>>>>ZAP... GOTCHA

One trick I have learned is if there is a thread growing by leaps and bounds (except this one of course) ... then it is a good chance that one is a booby-trapped thread. I avoid those too.

werewolf: after a full moon, I get a little down. I'm post-lunapausal lol

Fuzzy Logic is depressed.
Fuzzy Logic has just been reading other threads and wishes he hadn't.

It is indeed cold on the messageboard today.

Fuzzy Logic thinks it's warm and cuddly in here

boy, it got us all this time, didn't it. goes to wrap fuzzy in a nice big hug...

goodmorphing bounces off the table strapped to fuzzy's tummy. Dang, fuzzy, why you walking around with that thing? Here, let me help you down...

BKB: When life has its foot on your neck, it's expending energy at a high rate that can't be sustained indefinitely. older folks know from long experience that the foot is going to lift, however grudgingly. some younger folk have a harder time shaking the blues because they don't know this.

goodmorphing is very glad that BKB grew some fur and settled in!

oops... this is turning into a really long post...

goodmorphing stumbles back from the monitor, eyes spinning a little. The sun is going down. The fish are trying to stare me into feeding them. And I didn't get to the part fuzzy told me about (Moi? Naked?)...

Hmmmmm I have come to a conclusion... there is no catching up to a marathon... but maybe when I get back in a bit, I can just read the rest.

what a treasure

OC: Be good Ye Denizens of the FantasyLand Thread.

goodmorphing counts goodness achievements... I tickle good. I spank good too. When feline was a sad triangle I saw his point and tried to sing him out of blueness. I gave wolfie a neat bellybutton orb. I was glad for KG's new computer. I helped BKB with his fur growing. And I brought fuzzy a tickle machine even if he didn't like it.

yep.... when OC comes back I think my report should read "good".

goodmorphing suspects OC is related to Santa Claus, hopes the report gets passed along.

feline *sigh again* the nearest thing to a positive view on this i can see at the moment is that it is part of growing up to learn to stand on your own. for children this means gaining separation from their parents, and this is part of that process.

That's true, you know. They have done studies. Kids definitly learn to lie to be able to sustain life sometimes. goodmorphing knows that doesn't make it any easier to be caught in the middle of, though.

feline suddenly starts to feel frisky

goodmorphing perks up... OOOOOOOOOOO

KG: Oh, Fuzzy Logic, nice new skin! Very clean looking, and the purple is a nice change from all the blue and grey skins out there.

Yes! Nice skin fuzzy! I am wearing it now and when I finish here I will go tell you how I like it so.

Werewolf: ...thanks in part to the posts of wonderful people. I made a bunch of candles yesterday which was quite therapeutic

goodmorphing suddenly sees the benefit of reading long threads backwards.

UM, wolfie? You don't need to go read all that stuff I wrote. I'm glad you are happy and that you made some theraputic candles. Maybe you can set them to counseling all the sad candles and make some profit?

goodmorphing just got to the naked Goodmorphing part....

Hmmmm, chocolate inside and out would make me feel better. goodmorphing blushes... and if it makes wolfie feel better......... **BLUSH**

feline: as illustrated by the new baby chocolate volcano on the other side of the house! :CONGRATS:
goodmorphing grabs stick, marshmallows and heads for the baby shower....stops to put some rollers under fuzzy's table first.

Thanks for the kind words re my new skin. As I go along I'm learning a lot about skinning. One thing I have learned is just how awful my first skin was - that has got to go! It's embarrassing now...

Fuzzy Logic *CRINGE*

I like the idea of a yellow/orange skin though. Mabe a complete new set of bitmaps will sort it.

The "real world" would be a better place if it was more like this thread Hi!
I don't listen to the news anymore. The world is too depressing of a place anymore.

feline gets confused

why is JavaBean suggesting this isnt the real world?

feline looks around at all the chocolate mountains and coffee lakes i created

it seems real to me

Feline: however, you had better same some room in your heart for the rest of us!

When our first child was born, I thought my 'heart' would burst with the love I felt. When I found out about having our second, I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to feel the same love and yet it was there, as it was for our third. My capacity for such incredible, unbridled love just kept expanding. What's cool is that we all have this capacity for love. We can take it in and we can give it...as much as it takes. The sad thing is that a lot of people deny it, shield themselves from it. They will never know the joy because they are afraid of being hurt. I love you all!
