Msgboard Chatroom Marathon
Sunday, January 27, 2002 by Elfkura | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.
New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P
Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

*snip*
GM - No one ever talked about that before...
the referenced quote:
feline - people get upset when i don’t know who they are, but humans are just blobs to me until i have got to know them, at which point they become people. i don’t know if this is how others think, but it is how my mind works. as a suitable example i couldn’t describe my work colleges beyond gender and a vague indication of height and build. i have been working with these people for 3 years, recognise them on sight, but still they are just familiar blobs.
feline hugs GM and holds her tight
its ok, you arent the only one like this, you have found someone else who understands you now, and so have i.
i dont tend to feel guilty over this, well not that much, since it is just how i am. the thing is other people dont understand it. being like this has caused me problems over the years though
people either conclude that i am stupid, or that i am being deliberately rude. feline *sad sigh*
my one main saving grace now is that where i work is a small company, so there arent that many faces to remember. so having been there for a few years now i get by quite well
the main advantage though is that i work as a programmer, so people tend to be more "forgiving" of my "eccentricities". after all, programmers tend to be a bit odd to begin with, so my (supposed) maddness isnt quite so hard to deal with.

They tried to say I was autistic. They kept giving me tests. Finally the top guy (the one who trains the other ones) came and said he wished his ink blot test came out as good as mine. He said he wouldn't mind trading that and the IQ one too. Then I pointed out that there is a big variance between that and the way I manage to communicate with the world, and the success that my life isn't. He agreed. Now I have some medicine for attention deficit. When I first got it, it was like being awake for the first time in my life. I went back to school and graduated from the University. I went to work in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, then later in one for adults then later in ER. I was working my way through school with 40 hours work nights in ER, 20 hours work in the graduate library, and finishing off my last semester. I was getting sick and the doctors pointed out that you need to sleep more than one or two hours a night. Then things started falling apart. I just wanted to have everything at once, once I could "think straight". Even so, it is a different way of thinking and I think there will always be a lonely difference.

It is the anger that gets expressed my way, the hurt feelings that get caused and try as I might to be a better person and not make the anger happen, and not cause the hurt feelings... It happens. It is also a very lonely feeling.

Here is some interesting writing... http://www.grandin.com/inc/visual.thinking.html

I don't look in the graphics section much, I will do more of that now.Reply #2397 Wednesday, September 18, 2002 10:21 PM
goodmorphing musters forces and gathers clarity in order to teach werewolf that the feeling cops were boogiemen planted in our brains a long, long time ago possibly by inept peers who had no such emoting skills. The best thing to do to them is to wad them all up together, and stuff them into that big, big hole. Fill the malignant creation with the creators. Thing is, you have to keep an eye on them 'cuz they regenerate and try to crawl out.
goodmorphing dusts away the erasing dust....

Deleting buttons come in handy, sometimes. And maybe not having one is good. Impulsive moments caught in posterity and framed for all the world to see and take an impression of... GASP!
goodmorphing has inner battles of her own.

Yours might have to be c:\my app files\rainlendar\glass\main.bmp
After you save that .ini file back to the glass folder, you might want to go up to the rainlendar folder and open the rainlendar.ini file and tell it that your "CurrentSkin" name is glass and that the "CurrentSkinIni" file is glass.ini. Then start rainlendar. It should be ok then. Also, something I didn't think about... My screen rez is 1024x768 and I have rainlendar showing at the bottom left corner. If your rez is smaller than that, like 800x600 then rainlendar could be loading correctly, just off the screen. If that is the case, close rainlendar (just "end task" in the task manager) go to the rainlendar folder, open the rainlendar.ini file and change the x and y coordinates. Mine are set to x=0 and y=604.
I hope I haven't been "talking down" to you
I just want this to work for you. If you have any other problems, please ask.
