iPAQ 3765

Wednesday, January 16, 2002 by Erichss | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I have the Compaq iPAQ 3765, and most of the skins I see for the Dashboard, the top bar looks more like Windows XP, and the very bottom bar has icons down there, I was just wondering how that was done. Are the icons at the bottom the running program or shortcuts, and how to get them there.
Also is there anybody out there that knows how to make skins?

I don't have a Pocket PC nor Dashboard, but you can read more about skinning Dashboard on this page: http://www.snoopsoft.com/PocketPC/SkinsDev.html

Paxx, well I got a bunch of skins for the Dashboard, but that one is kinda secondary next to the icon thing I asked about also.
I want to either learn how skin or see if somebody can make a Cleveland Indians skin....

Erichss, I believe the icons you are referring to are running programs. I have the iPaq 3835 with OS Pocket PC 2002 and the only time I see icons on the bottom bar is when it is in the cradle. Hope this helps, not sure what os the 3765 runs.

He should be running PPC2002 and the only icons I ever see on the "Bottom" are when it's in the cradle as Trucker said =/

running app icons sit on "top" bar not bottom...

OK that would make sense.
But now how about the top bar looking more like WindowsXP?
I have DLed WisBar, but when that is running there are somethings I can't close out of cause the "Close Button" is covered. Things I can't close, for example, would be the Setting. I go to start then Settings, and anything I open up in settings I can close, just not the settings window. Any idea?
One other thing, anybody know where, or some somebody who can make a Cleveland Indians dashboard skin? Thanks for all your help.

McDeb use to admin on this site http://www.brighthand.com/

I've seen her make DB skins for ppl numberous times per request, she uploads here too just search for her via name on wc I'm pretty sure she'll do it, not sure if she will charge or not though okay.

pocketblinds feels heavier on my ppc when I run it vs wisbar but you get much more out of it... (skins top & bottom, wisbar does not)

Just keep in mind that sports team don't like people distributing things using their logos, even if it's free. They make a lot of money SELLING licences to use their logos. I found that out first hand... I started making hockey teams Windowblinds skins but I had to stop.

OK nobody had really answered my question about if using WisBar or Pocket Blinds of getting it to actually to close the setting window. There is never a close icon to close that window like there is when I don't use either one. Please help.

Erichss that sounds like a bug, try tapping w/ the stylus on the left somewhere in an empty space a few times and see if it triggers the close icon to display back?

if not I'm sorry I can't figure out why you have that problem...

Doreen, I've tried that and it does not trigger a close button.
