The Legendary Dick Clark is Gone
"American Bandstand" star dead at 83

A sad day indeed for those of us who grew up with American Bandstand.
Dick Clark (Richard Wagstaff "Dick" Clark) is dead at 83. In 2004, he suffered a massive stroke, but continued to lend his presence at so many special events like New Year's Eves in Times Square. Very sad. It appears that Mr. Clark had passed from a heart attack.
He was a real pioneer, and contributed to the careers of so many great artists... without bias or prejudice. Just a great guy with a unique skill set and a great businessman as well.
America's oldest teenager is gone....
"For now, Dick Clark...so long."

I meet him, talked to him and danced on American Bandstand. when I was 15 or 16. Take care Richard.

He was an icon and a true TV pioneer. He will be missed.

I grew up in the Philadelphis area and can remember American Bandstand when Dick Clark wasn't the host yet, damn I'm old. R.I.P. Dick Clark.
