Black menu in IE9

Saturday, April 14, 2012 by HauntingMorgana | Discussion: WindowBlinds

Hi

I'm currently using the latest version (7.4) of Window Blinds. In IE 9, there are times when I right click the page to bring up a menu, the whole area is solid black.

It only happens in IE9 btw.

Thanks.

A screenshot would help HauntingMorgana.  Does this happen with all WB skins?

What skin were you using when you took the screen shot and tell us 1 other skin that works correctly and I will help you find a solution. Also which OS?

Hi

I was using the 7 Plus skin. But, it happens with any skin. My OS is Win7 64 bit.

Thanks!

Do  you have any version of WindowFX installed? (particularly 5?)

Hi

I do have version 4 of WindowFX installed, but I did disable it earlier and have the same issue.

Thanks!

This only occurs in IE 9, which is odd.

I'm currently using Adni's 7 Plus skin with WindowBlinds 7.4 on Win 7 Home 64 and am not seeing this issue.  I did however, reboot after installing the updated WB 7.4 and have a fresh install of AMD Catalyst 12.3.  I recommend reboot and if that doesn't fix it do a fresh install of your gaphics drivers from AMD.

Hi

I've rebooted and it does not seem to happen as of now. Hopefully it stays that way.

Thanks.

K, it seems to only have this issue with IE (the 64 bit version)

Using the 32 bit version of IE 9 has no such issue.

Interesting to say the least.

K, it seems to only have this issue with IE (the 64 bit version)

Both versions of IE9 are working fine here.

If you reset WindowBlinds to the default Win 7 aero skin and reboot, do you see the same problem with IE9 64 bit?

What you are describing makes me think your graphics driver may be the culprit.
