Search Box Acting Strangely (Scrofulously Solved)
Or I'm Just Well "Centered"
Thursday, November 17, 2011 by RedneckDude | Discussion: WinCustomize Site Issues
Guys, I know this is just trivial. But I can't undersatnd why this is happening.
When I type anything into the search box at the top right of the page, the text won't go in until I get halfway across the box.
Anyone else?

Are you using a windowblind? One blind made access to the "search everywhere" option unavailable. Maybe the one you're using is interfering in a different way.
Oops, I thought you meant the Start Menu search box.

Tried a few blinds, all the same. Wiz says he isn't seeing it.
BTW, Win 7 64 bit IE9. Running the 32 bit iE9.

Me too. We have the same O/S specs. Also applies to IE9 64 Bit.

Have you tried shifting your chair slightly to the left?

LOL, I heard RnD's voice!!!!
Well strange though, I have tried several browsers but I can't replicate it.

It seems to be related to "compatibility view".
When checked, there is a problem.
When unchecked, no problem.
At least that is what happens for me.

Good catch, I can replicate it here with those settings on Win7/64/IE9

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit SP1 and IE 9 64 bit and don't have that problem.

And how many times have I told members that the Java engine for IE9 x64 is slow, broken and to use IE9 x32 instead?

In my case, I am using the 32 bit flavor of IE9 on Win7 Ultimate 64bit. Compatibility view does cause the issue here. I concur with Scrofulous1.
@ #4 yrag, that's just too frikkin' funny!!!
