WinCustomize Christmas/Holiday Skinning Contest 2011
Friday, November 11, 2011 by Island Dog | Discussion: WinCustomize News
We are approaching the holiday season and this has always been a popular skinning holiday as decorating a desktop is almost as fun as decorating your house for Christmas. We already have a great gallery full of holiday themed skins, but lets reinforce that with some fresh new designs. This time we are just going for a free-for-all casual contest where any skin type is welcome as long as it’s available at WC for download.
The rules:
- Contest runs from November 11th to Friday, December 16th, 2011.
- Any skin type accepted, as long as it’s one available on WinCustomize.
- No limit on skin submissions, but remember quality over quantity.
- WC moderation is still in effect.
- Judges are the WC admins/mods. Skins will be judged on quality and creativity.
- Skins/images must be original content.
- In skin description, please put “WC Holiday Contest 2011”.
Remember, this is a fun contest to create and share holiday skins. We are looking for creative holiday ideas and how they are turned into a function skin or usable wallpaper. As mentioned this is open to all skin types on WC, but of course I’d recommend popular categories like WindowBlinds, Wallpapers, CursorFX, DeskScapes, etc.
The prizes:
- 1st place:
- $25 gift card
- Object Desktop subscription
- WinCustomize subscription
- Featured in the new upcoming WinCustomize Magazine
- Paragon Backup & Recovery 11 Home
- Runner-up: Object Desktop subscription, $10 iTunes gift card
- 3rd place: WinCustomize subscription
I’m still working on getting some more prizes, but all skins will be featured on the front page of WinCustomize and it’s various social outlets which is great exposure for the artist.
Can’t wait to see what’s submitted!

Have to start mine over. It didn't work. Boogers!
Which is not necessarily a bad thing. CS3 has the warp tool. I like the warp tool. I'm thinking that since it came with the Acer installed I'd be a fool not to use it. A more better Photoshop. Yum!

The cutoff will be around 6pm EST, so you still have time to get stuff in!

Well since it's Friday and I'm not going to do anything with them over the weekend, I'll accept entries until Monday morning. That gives you two additional days.

A question I shudder to ask. If a submission is done on the 16th but is not approved through moderation until after the weekend, will it still be entered?

Date of submission.
The cutoff today is 12pm EST. Anything not in the gallery or mod queue by then will not be accepted for the contest.
