WB new install
Tuesday, October 18, 2011 by Grdimstr75 | Discussion: Object Desktop
I just installed Windows 7 ultimate on my pc. I also just bought object desktop suite. I am having issues with WB as usual. a couple things. when you want to have an applicaiton excluded you usually just use the .exe well in some cases this does not work with every applicaiton. how can i or is there a way to exclude all applications from being skinned. I only want Windows to be skinned not my apps. i hate going in and doing one by one and when i do select the .exe and hit apply it still does not work for some apps.
next issue is i hate it when you get a great looking skin like this halloween one i want to put on my OS it does not conform nicely to installing new apps like when i wanted to install my pc game Wolfenstein (new one) i go thru the installshield wizard and on the parts where it asks me do i agree for example i cant check off the check box because of the skin it is not there as the wb skin is covering it annoying. . how can i fix this ?

Have all of you updated to the latest release available in the store? The newest version # is 7.30.047 and it contained various fixes.
If you have 7.30.037 installed, that version was problematic.

Yes, please update to the latest version and then report if you still have an issue.

Production version 7.30.047 is what is currently available on my MyAccount page, ID. Is that the 'new' version you are referring to? '7.3 Build 308 x64' is what I 'have' (how I wish they would 'jive').
On a related note, are interim betas now supposed to be available by default on the MyAccount page?
Thanks,
Daiwa

How can one tell what 'build' the version available for download is? (Insert pent-up frustration rant here).

Good question, so far all I do is keep going to my store account and keep tracking the number build example like this " WindowBlinds 7 [v7.30.047] (65.0 MB)" Untill stardock comes up with some better solution. I do miss Impulse. It was so easy to update stuff.

Well, I may start a new petition thread, so to speak. Now would seem the perfect opportunity, as SD is developing a replacement for Impulse, to normalize SD's versioning system so that each version is referred to by the same nomenclature no matter where you check it. Why SD insists on using one nomenclature system for the downloadable files and a different one in the 'About' dialog and tooltip is simply beyond me. I know they have a 'reason' - I just can't get my mind around why this unnecessarily confusing practice was ever adopted. Intentionally confounding your customers would seem counterproductive, but maybe that's just me. I freely admit this has been a pet peeve since WB2. But it comes up over and over and over again.

I can't get exclusions or per app skins to apply with the 7.3 version, either. Win7 Pro 64bit. Not sure we can fix it on the user end.
