JcRabbit
so it's kind a mute point.

'moot', Jorge...

Alternative/more forums/sites dedicated to skinning and GUI customizing, even 'only' sub-forums is a good thing, provided activities/content on them is policed sufficiently that they do not allow the disemination of artists' works without consent.

Any forum/site is only as good as it's contributors and the standards of their administration.

All that aside I'd personally find the issue of co-habitation within the same direct network/ownership with that which was referenced in #1 sufficient incentive to seek another home.

One bad apple does NOT ruin the whole bunch, and you cannot judge an entire community based on the actions of a few stupid few who have already been removed. If that were true. I could make a LONG list of people, places, and things that you still use/associate with even though there have been a few bad apples

There were idiot comments re First Amendment claiming that protected the rights of these people involved with 'Jailbait'/kiddie porn, etc.

It's all about how strong-handed the policing [Administration] of the sites really is.  Lax or tardy action acts as a breeding ground for all sorts of 'nasties' from copyright abuse to straight-out warez distribution.

A multi-level forum with sub-sets to individual and different activities/interests means the parent company/site owner/administration's relative 'inaction' taints all of them through association.

Simple reality is - inappropriate use was allowed to be made in the first place due to lack of proper supervision.

That it happened 'once' and has now allegedly been removed certainly does not preclude a repetition or worse, and imagine if Legal action resulted in the site/network's closure....all the 'sub-forums', good AND bad would cease to be - hence my preference for 'seeking another home'.

Oops! Thanks, Jafo, I'll remember this one! 'Moot' point it is.
