MyColors Themes
What to do...
Saturday, October 8, 2011 by RedneckDude | Discussion: MyColors
OK, I have to ask before I do anything.
Since MyColors is no more, do I need to uninstall them and get the suites from Stardock Store, or what?

Do the themes you have not work? Just wondering why you would want to uninstall them. I recently purchased Koi but I never had it as a mycolors suite.
Sorry dude. My response was before your edit.

Stop. Seriously.
Some of the MyColors suites have been replaced and some haven't.

Legitimate question. Have I done something to you that I don't remember?

From my perspective.........
Some of the themes, for example Koi, do not yet appear in my Stardock inventory of purchases as themes, only MyColor suites. That means I would have to retain MyColors to install Koi, despite the fact it appears as a theme.
I have twice written Stardock via email for clarification of why Koi is a theme yet does not appear in my store inventory as a theme, and I have twice had no response.
I no longer use Stardock themes/suites as I find the community skins as good, or better. It is pretty hard to beat the Elemental skins, Sakura, Primo etc etc.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but will not Theme manager install suites such as Koi? I never used theme manager though. I just downloaded and changed the extension to zip and extracted the contents which you can apply separately.

mycolors are .exe files

2of3 when I purchased Koi just a week ago it came as a suite file. I changed the extension from suite to zip and extracted it. Inside the extracted folder was the windowblind, ip and so on. I just installed them separately because I have ObjectDescktop. Also thememanager will work because I just loaded koi into theme manager and it showed up.

If you go to the Stardock Store, under your account, and download a MC skin, it is an exe file and it installs MyColors all over again.

RND I am not getting this. I went to the Stardock store under my account and purchased Koi. It did not download as a exe file. It was a suite file which theme manager will install or you can do what I mentioned about changing the extension. Why are people saying suite files are exe? Are there 2 koi downloads one being a suite and one being an exe.

Quoting JuniorCrooks, reply 12Why are people saying suite files are exe?
I said mycolors themes are .exe files.
Koi must be one of the once mycolors themes that have been converted.
OK my mistake but I said what I said because I thought mycolor themes were no longer available for download. If Koi was converted that makes sense to me now. I hope more will get converted.

Yes Jim I understand that mycolor themes are exe files. The confusion came when I downloaded the koi suite because it was a suite file but I also knew it was a mycolors theme. A few mycolor themes have been converted I guess

Can someone fix that? I have no idea what went wrong there. I cannot edit it even if I delete everything.

No problem DaveRI, I just wanted to be sure I hadn't inadvertently pissed someone off.

Actually, it seems the Stardock Store still offers me MyColors themes. So, I guess my question is, do I need to keep MyColors installed?
We use Theme Manager now to load them, right?
My Add/Remove programs shows a bunch of MC themes installed, do I uninstall them?
