WB 3.0a and SkinStudio1.20b help please

Im having some problems and I realize that Im using alpha and beta versions so that is to be expected... I have tried entering Stardocks irc channel to ask for help but noone seems to be there much anymore. (I do not use the news groups sorry)
My problems:
WB3.. I find that some things like scrollbars and menu backrounds intermittenly get screwed up on my system.. like the pixels get all outta whack or something. And the integration into the OS is great but cant ya make the old way of changing skins available as an option (from the tray icon)? Also The menu problem has been happening to me for several versions now and Its hampering the skinning method greatly
( I cannot test them) Is it possible that I have a corrupt .dll or what?
SkinStudio... I always use the template for making a new skin where I have to cut a premade image when making a new skin.. in the new version this part gets errors in the final step of creating a new skin so that just wont work for me. I tried using the prior version of skinstudio and I get the beta message saying that version is out of date and cannot be used. As a ODN Member, cant that be changed to where the versions do not get that beta message and continue to work so that when a new version has problems we dont have to wait for a new version to get a stable build working on our systems?

are you sure you dont want to try the newsgroups? i often find then quite a helpful source of information.
as for the programs, i tried the first beta of WB3 a few days ago, on my windows 98 work machine. i did get some strange graphics corruption on the menu bar of outlook 2000, but it was largely ok appart from that at first.
the machine did go screwey after that, but i cannot really draw any conclusions from this, since this machine is quite unstable anyway.
as for the interface, i REALLY missed the ability to see previews of the skins you were choosing from, and was unable to se how to force a colour blend on "blue toast", which doesnt currently support it. so between these, i rolled back to the last working build of wb2.
as for 24 hours with no response, this isnt billed as the primary support location for WB3
