This is my last post but as you are a frtiend I will try and explain and correct something I said that may not be taken right.

I used the wrong word saying "totally" above. I didn't say there was anything wrong with anyone posting anything about or for another member. Wheather it's a BD or just plain fun. jafo said it best when he said the mods have access to information we don't have. Because of this reason of mods knowing I was aying there is a much higher percentage of mods posting BD than friends for each other. I never said it didn't happen but you couldn't post mine as you don't know when it is but you may know some so that is wonderful you would post first. That's all i'm saying and don't know how else to explain it.

The key here was again me using "totally" in my first post when I should have just used there is a much higher percent posted by mods which I just expalined why it happens that way. So my mistake in using the wrong word.

BTW. Please post PO's BD tomorrow

Lets get the facts straight here, shall we...

• No personal information is obtained from any Stardock database regarding birthday posts.  
• Posts are made by a variety of members including myself, mods, members, etc.  There's no favoritism at all.  Many members here have relationships with other members and if one wants to post a "Happy Birthday" to another....then what is the real problem?
• Are you upset because nobody posted your birthday, and this is somehow a way to stop others from having fun?
• Really, get over it.....

I'm probably at or near the top of Happy Birthday posters the last few years. Most of them are for people I "know"; some for others I respect for reasons such as contributions to skinning, forums, or just plain longevity. In your case, if I knew when your birthday was, I'd post one due to your skinning contibutions and the fact that you've been around a long time; the trouble is, I don't know when your birthday is, and that goes for a lot of other people who I'd like to send birthday wishes to. In any case, Happy Birthday.

I'm an Admin on this site [and functionally the same on all of Stardock's sites] and even I don't have access to DOBs, etc.

US Banking [credit card] laws prohibit my access to SD's account info as I am not a US resident... so the only info accessible is User name, Nick, and email - the stuff needed to 'handle' people on the site/s.

IF someone posts their personal details on their page/s....like DOB or age, etc. then it's visible to all.

Other than that...confidential info remains exactly that.

jafo, I don't know what the hell I thought I read before. All calmed down and am sorry for posting incorrect information. Actually Hankers states it correctly. No excuses but I sometimes have a pronlem I never had before the last couple years saying some things incorrect but meaning something totally different. That's something I know is wrong with me and the reason I don't say to much. Despite  what anyone thinks I would do amost anything to help someone else.

Well, at least ID caught the little Bircher at the end of the post to realize there was a certain amount of trolling going on.

I could have made these comments on Harley's or Andrew's birthday threads but decided not too because that would have been disrespectful to the intent of the threads and again, happy belated birthday Harley and Andrew.

Doc, you are the one that posts the majority of birthday greetings. You are a mod and you are posting those as a mod, I assumed (incorrectly it appears) that those posts were "official" posts. Now, at least, I guess, that that may not be the case, but....

If anyone really thinks I give a rat's ass about celebrating my birth date with you losers then think again. I would, of course, take umbrage if someone was using personal data to mention birth dates and overlooking those members that have been around for some time for whatever reason.

I am relieved to know that our personal data is not being accessed to boost one's karma and that I have the choice of sharing mine or not.

Then you added the "but" which negates you taking ownership of your misperceptions and misstatements.

You are not off the hook for the apology you owe me, gmc2. It should include the "cliques", "prying into user accounts", and "playing favorites" along with the intellectual dishonesty which those accusations imply.

You also owe the management (Admins) of WC and SD an apology. 

After you do that, I will extend once again my hand in friendship to a fellow community member.
