Something will replace the current system (download links) and hopefully sooner than later.  It should allow for easy, unobtrusive updates (without rewriting or adding code to ever SD app).

Maybe this time they'll learn their lesson and not automatically add itself into startup.  Looking forward to "SDC 3.0."

True....but it would definitely cut down on all the "omg Stardock is nothing but evil malware!" posts. No need to follow in the path of Adobe...seriously. Stardock is/should be better than that.

I love hearing how windowblinds borkewd an entire system and sent everything crashing. My favorite ones are where they blame the designers. No wait, my absolute fav's are the ones where they call Brad evil and blame him for filling all the software with Trojans. I love to sit back with a cup of coffee and troll the thread after it's built up a bit. 

I love when they respond that they know more about computers than anyone here. How they practically  helped build Big Blue and have had ideas stolen from them by Apple.

But the best, the absolute best is when you ask them to cut and paste their system info from WIndowblinds and they suddenly get very quiet.  Then they paste something that someone has to pint out is an outdated version and they ask 'Where did you get your copy of windowblinds?' ! That's when it gets really good.

The only objection I have to downloading updates from the Stardock Store is the absence of release dates. If this info was provided, I would know if said update was new or not, yes? If this info was given, I would be happy with the current system indefinitely. Yes, I can check the About... box in individual apps, but that is most inconvenient and cumbersome. I would be most grateful if this item were addressed. I am and will continue to be a loyal paid supporter of both Stardock (OD) and WC. Here's hoping the best still lies ahead!

Hey all, I am now a casualty from between the Impulse days and recently renewed my OD registration and found I could no longer use impulse to check for updates of installed apps. after going back and forth with the SD people I had to go and manually download everything I want to use or manually check in my account to see if any thing is newer than what I now have installed. What a pain in my...tookus, backside, Arse..Ect...Ect.!

If the past going from SDC to Impulse is any indication of time warp we'll all be in till they come up with new working version of SDC, (hint) plus the lack of telling their customers what they are doing to replace impulse with? we will be waiting like we did for Starcraft II...Just saying.

Nothing like putting the proverbial cart before the horse. The proper way to conduct business would have been to have an alternate download system in place to take over as soon as Impulse was sold. Hope this gets sorted out alot quicker than the site issues that have been hanging out for several months.

It's easy to say the "proper way should have...", but in reality when you work with limited resources on a multitude of projects, building a new notification/download system and properly testing it isn't something you do in just a couple of months.  

Again, the minor site issues here have absolutely nothing to do with the development of an app.  Two different things completely.

Geez, that was kinda my point! The sight issues that were caused by an update to the forums have been going on for about eight months now and yet they should be an easy fix compared to developing an app. If it takes this long to get something that should be fairly easy to fix done, how long will it take to get a major project done? Just sayiong that the sale of Impulse was not a spur of the moment thing and in reality a replacement should have been in place before the transaction took place. The sight issues may seem minor to folks who are not experiencing them but those of us who are may not see them as so "minor". I just know that I need to renew my subscription soon and wonder how that will affect Impulse working for me. Sorry to hear you are all stretched so thin!

Transactions are involved with two or more parties, I can't imagine one party would wait for another while they work on another project.

Once you resubscribe, Impulse is not going to be supported in your account.  That is part of the phase-out.
