Winstep Nexus Dock v11.6 FREE released

Winstep has released Nexus v11.6. The new release features built-in support for animated icons (just drag & drop, no need for 3rd party docklets), eighteen different dock mouse over effects that can be combined with the Magnify effect, and MUCH MORE! Read the full change log HERE.
The Winstep Nexus dock is a FREE dock for Windows. Every feature you’d expect from a dock, including widgets, mouse-over effects, skins, drag-and-drop, and others not available in most other docks, such as live icon reflections, in-dock system tray, Win7 'superbar' abilities for running applications, automatic blur-behind (Vista/7) of semi-transparent dock backgrounds, and much more. Completely customizable, Nexus has thousands of backgrounds freely available online and is fully compatible with skins for all 3rd party docks.
Nexus runs on the 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista and Windows 7 and currently supports the following languages: Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), Croatian, Czech, Dutch, English, Farsi (Persian), Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Portuguese (Brasil), Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish.

It's the free version, only supports one dock and no Shelf. Nexus Ultimate is the paid version - when the free gets updated, the other gets updated too. But don't worry, you already have the latest version.

Sigh. 500 Internal Server Error? Try again, please, it comes and goes. The site has been acting a bit flaky for the past 3 days, the Basiclink guys are already on it.
Hope the nice animated icons SWF demo file I did has nothing to do with the server crashing, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did... trouble seems to have started after I added that to the site.

I'm a noob when it comes to winstep/nexus...sorry.
How easy is it to skin (skin editor program vs .ini files and notepad?) and can I convert my objectdock backgrounds to work with this?

just bought nexus extreme, works far more smoothly than objectdock and loads a hell of a lot quicker as well. Far more options for customizing. The only problem i have encountered is with the recycle bin not updating the icon when you empty the bin. using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. but apart from that i am happy with it so far. well worth the money

You don't need to convert anything - Nexus is compatible with skins for *all* 3rd party docks.
As for skinning, because of the above, you can use whatever skinning format you chose (RocketDock, ObjectDock, RK Launcher, etc...) to skin Nexus...
Currently Winstep is working on it's own Winstep Theme Builder application so users can make native Winstep skins. Previously, skinning options were part of the applications themselves, so you would skin them via the GUI, but since very few users actually do skins they were removed and are currently being migrated into a dedicated theme builder application.

Guys, I got it. Even poor WebGizmos is stuck in v9.5 land because I haven't finished the builder yet, eheh.

I have to agree 100% No offense to SD or the OD developers but Nexus makes ObjectDock look like it is half-finished.

I'll neither agree nor disagree. lol I have no problems with ObjectDock. It loads pretty quick but I think its tie-in to explorer should be changed. Couple of times explorer crashed on me. Everything else worked except that and ObjectDock, Nexus ran smoothly as did Rainmeter and Sysmetrix. The problem with explorer was too many apps loading at startup. At least that's what I thought it was so I changed that to just a bare minimum. Still does it occasionally.
