WindowBlinds 7 and WIndows Themes

Hi,
It seems having both WindowBlinds installed and running Windows Themes at the same time uses a lot of resources. Is it necessary to keep Windows Themes turned on to run Window blinds, Is it suggest to leave it on for some reason or turn it off and let WindowBlinds do all the skinning. Just looking for opinions and experiences. I still like a good looking desktop that gets away from the drab "standard" Windows theme.

I'm not certain, but might doing that (turning Windows Themes) also turn off DWM and/or services needed to run Dreams?
yrag or CarGuy1 would know this... maybe a couple of others.

@ RnD: You can save a lot of them thar RAM (Ray-Yum) thangs iff'n yuh turn off "Hillbilly Services" in Win-duhs.

Dunno, that's why I am looking for experiences. I have just turned off Windows Themes and see no "visual" changes in the WB7 theme. As for resources we shall have to see after some tests. I am just kind dissapointed about how crappy IE 9 looks. Hopefully that will be fixed soon. Or maybe I will start using Firefox 5. I figured out a way to get the Google bar to work with it...hehe

Yes, it looks crappy. Can we do anything about it? Not at present. Choices: Say "yuk!" and use it (if you're on 7x64, use the ie9 x32 - much faster)
or don't. I've "excepted" all the browsers in WB config. Either they're ugly or unusable. And no one can keep up with the frequent browser updates (if they affect the GUI).
So I use Pale Moon and VOX (thanks for that fantastic skin, btw, v).
Chrome is unskinnable. Now it has no bookmarks bar. Bye Chrome: Some people actually have organized bookmarks they wish to use.
Latest Opera's rendering of fonts is spotty.
So.... GOOGLE TOOL BAR?!?!?! Best practice is no tool bars from any software. Period.
You should read a bit about "tool bars" and Google's bar as well as Google's great respect of individual privacy. Not great if you like any semblance of privacy Joe, and you lose all control of how and when it updates itself. They say that "individual" info isn't collected... lol. They drive down the street and "sniff" networks in Europe (where they said it was "unintentional" and got their butts sued - and lost) and they're doing it here, and a judge has just said that's wiretapping and another law suit is going forward against them.

Google will probably wind up going the way of AT&T. Uncle Sam broke up AT&T because it violated the laws against owning a monopoly into so many smaller companies called baby bells. Imagine...from Google to Gurgles. lol

OO, there's a Wincustomize toolbar? hehehe Well I have been thinking of Ditching the Google Foolbar oop Toolbar anyway as it slows down the opening of the browser, opening and browing pages and yes as I am just finding out it is a HUGE privacy hole.
I will try those themes you mentioned. Also I turned Windows Themes back on and I have noticed no performance hit. In fact everything is just about the same but with Themes on I don't get that DRAB look in my browser.

Naw, all kidding aside. Turning off windows themes may kill aero. Hadn't thunk of that.
Just use windowblinds. We all do. Take our word for it...lol.

WindowBlinds 7 should be hardly using any resources whether windows themes are running or not.

Doesn't seem to matter. As WindowsBlinds seems to apply the Windows basic (or lack of any theme) before applying it's own theme. If you unload WindowBlinds from the icon you're left with no theme at all, just the plain Windows Basic, so I just turned off Windows themes and let WB 7 do all the skinning.

Exactly. If your PC has so little resources as to worry about this, you probably don't have the machine to be running customization software to begin with.
