How do you make desktop icons transparent so they don't look so horrible against background? W2K

the only way i know of is to use desktopx, replacing the icons with analogous dx objects.

Transparent icons are not supported by versions of Windows previous to XP. So, the only solution is to upgrade or as Migellito suggested, use Desktop X, with which you'll be able to place animated, trnaparent objects on your desktop. Only downside is a somewhat perceptible lost of performance. The choice is yours.
