Product Registrations and You!
How to get the Stardock software you paid for.
Monday, June 27, 2011 by Rosco_P | Discussion: Stardock Support General
Greetings, friends!
We've been getting a lot of questions about how to download and install your Stardock software purchases from both the past and present (and future, too, I guess). Well, here's the skinny on that. Get it? 'Skin'ny? *sigh*
Anyway, at the moment we are in a transition period. Specifically, we are transitioning away from Impulse being your main download and update method. Going forward, you can access all of your registrations and download links for Stardock software by logging in here:
https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products
This will give you a list of everything that is on your account, along with your serial numbers and installer download links. That's right, download links directly to the latest stable version of the software. Let's all pause to let that sink in.
...
Ok, then. Each application should prompt for activation the first time, just type your email address, and copy/paste from the page into the window, and you should be all set.
As always, keep in mind that trial versions of our software are not upgradable to the full versions by entering a product key, and they must be uninstalled and the PC rebooted before installing the full version of any program.
Common issues:
"I don't see [program name] listed, what happened to it?"
If you have registrations on more than one email address, you'll need to get them on the same account. If you have access to both email addresses, you can merge them together here:
https://www.stardock.com/support/registrations/
If you don't have access to both, send an email to support@stardock.com with an order or serial number, or billing address for verification, and we'll merge them together for you.
"I just renewed my Object Desktop subscription, and Impulse still says it's expired!"
Because Impulse is now owned by Gamestop, your renewal only affects the Stardock side of things, so Impulse can't know that you've renewed. You will need to use the new download page to access the software.
"What about my games?"
If you've purchased any Stardock gaming titles (GalCivII, Sins, Demigod, Elemental), those will still be handled through Impulse. This site is for non-gaming software only.
"What about [problem that I haven't thought of yet]?"
Either post it here, or email support@stardock.com for assistance. If you're posting here, try to avoid posting things like serial numbers or personal email addresses.

sbell: Log out and back in and you should be set.
Phoon: Looking into that...

Wouldn't the payment method (for new purchases) and confirmation determine when the registrations appear on that link, Roscoe_P?

What's the best way to view/find the expiration dates for ODNT & WC membership?

Phoon: At the moment, no. It's in the works, though.
DrJBHL: I'm not really sure what you mean. Payment method doesn't have an effect, only the email address used during purchase. If your PayPal email address is different from your Stardock account email address, that sometimes causes issues, but only if you use the 'Checkout with PayPal' button. If you go through the regular checkout, it should be fine.
Also, there's no 'e' in Rosco_P.

Lantec: Workin' on getting that on the page. For now, requesting an email from here is the easiest:

Sorry about the 'e', Rosco. An e-gregeous error.
I was referring to purchases:
1. made outside the US vs. here, and
2. debit vs. credit card purchases
Does one or another buyer location/method of payment cause a delay in the appearance of the registration on the page? Does one require a
confirmation process which might take longer and cause a delay in time between the 'purchase' and the appearance of the registration on the site
https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products ?
Sorry if I'm not explaining the question well.
We seem to get unhappy folks who purchase on Fridays or over a weekend and run into problems with reg's. Just trying to get the most info as to possible snags.

Worked like a dream last week when I got WindowBlinds 7 .
So nice not to need impulse.
EDIT
Went straight through Doc paid on card in UK went and Downloaded and Installed no delay.

The only thing that might cause delays would be if the transaction was mistakenly detected as fraud. It's rare, but it does happen. These orders need to be manually processed, and that is usually done so somewhere from within a few minutes, to several hours. If weekends are involved, it may take longer. Once the order is processed, then it should show up right away. If you get a message that your order is being 'Processed', then this is most likely what happened, and you can contact sales@stardock.com for more information.
As long as the purchase doesn't get caught by the fraud checks, then it should be available immediately (or within seconds, anyway).

I may be a "special case" but I was unable to log in (email/password not matching). I used the password recovery email process adn even copying and pasting failed to log me into the store.
Yay for debug-time!

Zu... use C&P but start at the end and stop @ the beginning. Snowy's right... I've had similar experiences.

Ok, just renewed OD. Impulse still shows expired, various reg fixes listed on support don't appear to fix. This post suggests that downloads are available from the My Products page without need for impulse, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I see the listing for my renewal but their is no download link. How do I download the software I've paid for and install it?
