June 2011 Desktop Screenshots

I mentioned elsewhere I'd been messing with PSD layers etc for skinning aircraft in FSX.....this is one of them.
Allegedly Boeing's idea of an A380 beater....a '797' .... skinned as a Qantas aircraft.
Desktop is pretty utilitarian, just with the Dock and Fences ...![]()

Thanks ... the colour on the wallpaper is a good point of reference, it's very well done.

thanks Taz... I was attracted to the unusual colour combination myself... thought it'd make an interesting screenie....

Nedd an opinion before I upload updates. Does this screenie look any better?

In my opinion it's best to showcase the item related to the particular gallery. Otherwise it's just a screenshot. It's ok if your showing something in the works and posting it here but then when it comes to actually uploading whatever it is to whichever gallery it's best to not make it busy with everything else and just show what you made.
And at least try and keep the theme the same...you have 3 different things going on in that screeny which is fine for screenshots...but you need to slim it down for whichever of those things your updating...less confusion that way...and your work shines better.

And looking at that screenshot you seem to be suffering from the infamous (!!!) IconPackager bug that makes some of your icons appear like the default blank icon.
I asked Stardock if this bug had been fixed already in the new version, and got no response, which pisses me off a bit because this issue makes it look like the problem is in the Winstep software instead of IconPackager. Seems like I will have to solve this on my side as I did with the buggy Logitech and Setpoint drivers, which is really not fair since, AFAIK, all IconPackager needs to do to prevent this problem from occurring is deleting the IconHandler key from the Registry when it is being un-installed.
Here is the fix:
Open the Windows Registry Editor, go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shellex and delete the subkey/folder IconHandler
This problem has been mentioned countless of times. You can find the fix I mention above in this thread: https://forums.wincustomize.com/390822

This is the new image for the docks and tiles. Just waiting for it to show up.

Much better!
What I usually do...is load whatever skin I did docks for and then put as many of the docks I can fit on the screen as well and do a full desktop shot...might take several screenshots though...but that's how I do it
