DX Future?

OK, I know this has been asked and asked. But I really need to know, are there going to be any new versions of DX? Is there a future at all for it or am I just limited to what I have?
It's been so long since anyone Stardock has even responded to this question. Could someone step up and give a definitive answer please?

There's really not an answer I can give at the moment. I can say for the short term you will be working with what you got.

I've asked questions about ObjectDesktop as you have about DesktopX. I guess it's time I had a also.

As you see DX is dead more than 1 year... However I've found new developer tool which is much more powerful! This is Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express: http://www.microsoft.com/express/Downloads/#2010-Visual-Basic
Moreover, IT'S TOTALLY FREE in a contrast to DX PRO which cost us $65!!!
So, don't spend your time for this nonsense because you're in a deadlock... 
Try to learn Visual Basic (it takes less than six months...) and you will make gadgets (themes) in Visual Studio. And those gadgets / themes will be so different from created with DX as a Space Shuttle is different from the old Airship...

Vad_M, thanks for response, but from what I can tell, Visual Basic is a foreign language to me. I try to learn, but just don't seem to get it. I wish I had your knowledge.

I agree with all of you The first thing that drew me to the whole skinning idea many many years ago was DesktopX. It would be so sad to see them just stop updating it. Please Do some more updating.

What really gets me at times is DesktopX Builder really crashing hard on me so I can only do a cold boot. Win 7 64bit that is. I just hope, we will see some bugs ironed out some time or someone taking on DX to the next level.

If you have DX 4, lose it, go back to 3.5.
If you use weather widgets that crash DX with a zip error, lose them and get new widgets.
DX works fine here....DesktopX Pro 3.5 on Windows 7 64 bit.

I'm curious. Sysmetrix was a year waiting for an update, that I can understand because its a one man gig but DX? Its been in beta how long now?

Being a certed MSCD (in 2000) and been an OLD computer "everything" for so many years, I can give my thumbs up to Visual Basic (I still have Visual Studio Pro 2005). I have been trying to keep up and I think I am start to get behind on all the newer tech. I can't afford the 2008 or 2010 ori versions.
ANyway, I was looking at DesktopX because of the VB Scripting or whatever. I didn't do a lot of graphical programming, and thought this might give me something down that line.
Hearing about DesktopX'a unsupported state of affairs, I wonder what use it would be for me. I am thinking of getting the Object Desktop, which has DX in that suite. Having Windows 7 x64 makes me wonder if I could actually use it.
Dunno?
But YEAH on VB!!

FYI: I have a membership at a Visual Studio Titorial site that has all video tutorials for everything programming under VS. VB C+(all), everything else. I am willing to share, if you are intereseted in this.

I'd advise you to get ObjectDesktop because it has so many "skinning" programs that can change the appearance of nearly everything on your desktop. DesktopX isn't getting much love or attention, but it still works in the none-beta version. I'm pretty sure it works on Win7 64-bit.
Even if you don't make things with it, other people do. Check out the DesktopX galleries, and you'll find some amazing tools, most of which will have the same graphics as a WindowBlinds skin.
