Is this a rip?

Sunday, August 26, 2001 by BoXXi | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Is someone allowed to do this to my theme?

Could an admin take a look please?

It sure looks like it.... And it made the newest additions bar to the right as well. Hmmm, I guess moderation isn't what it used to be...

I just downloaded it. They didn't even try to completely change the name or "about". Really makes you wonder...

Thanks Bill, it seems to have disappeared from the list now, maybe an admin got to it.

Yes, it is deleted, and email sent....

Please note, if there is one thing we plan to do right, it's protecting authorship.

If this person wishes to contact his 'source/s of inspiration' for approval/consent, obtains it, and includes the info with the submission, it can be approved....

BoXXi,

In looking at this I played with the mouse overs, very nice work, especially the Quake3.

Wall-dependent graphic-driven themes need the approval of the Wall's creator.
Not only must the theme include the wall, but its interactive graphics are derived from the wall and are not 'original work' of the themer.
That makes 2 reasons why consent must be obtained.
And consent obtained by one themer does not follow on to any derived works by another themer...

I'm particularly aware of this as it took quite a while to catch up to the original wall artist of my latest theme...

And thanks for the comment, Bryan....

Bill, if he's so good at making mouseovers, let him make his own theme! The reason I made that theme as I did was to retain the integrity of the wallpaper image, which is a great piece by a great artist. That original image was destroyed by this rip.

Boxxi,

Sorry about that. Didn't mean to offend. That was another poor attempt at humor by me...

Hey Bill, I wasn't offended. Only by the guy that ripped me. Don't worry about it.
