You're not alone HoustonRon. There are compatibility issues with the new browsers. It may take some time before the PTB's get around to doing something about it. In the meantime with FF4, try uninstalling any add-ons you might have. That may clear up some issues with FF4 viewing web pages such as commenting in forums. I don't know about Chrome, don't use it. Something about evil google. Anyway ... Opera also has compatibility issues as does IE9, Pale Moon. That's because many of the features common to these browsers were removed to make them faster. Instead it screwed them up. Wish I had more for you.

The title of the post says it all. 

You know what I think. I think the guys making the browsers are engaged in their own little 'browser war'. See who can get their newbies out first and grab the most ... first. Fuctionality seems to have gone south.

Ok since i have heard about so many people having problems with new browsers and a friend had a problem equal to some posts i wanted to post what i did to solve these issues on his/her PC.
I started with cleaning the IE5 content folder under windows7 it is located under
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low if you have problems finding the path you might want to create a new shortcut on your desktop and insert the path and username on the manual.
Now i made a backup of the favourites.Since I deleted those aswell aswell as cookie history.
After that in his/her case i removed the current IE9 installation from software updates.
After it was removed windows needed a quick restart so i did.Everything worked fine and i had the old IE8 installed again after reboot.
Now I had another look into the installed programs and remove every "unnecessary toolbar" you " might " have installed one without noticing over the past aswell. 
After i removed the toolbars i searched the registry for remaining IE9 keys and for registry keys for the toolbars- If you dont want to search your registry via "regedit" you might use a registry cleaner of your choice.
So after i had removed the keys i had another - yes restart  
Ok rebooted installed an "up to date version of IE9" some like in my case updated from the old RC version and i think it might be that or old content in the IE5 folder reg keys causing these problems.
After the new Ie9 installation was done and another restart imported the old fav´s.
IE had no problems and was working like a charm.

I initially had problems with FF4 i installed over the top of the old FF no need to name them as many have had the same. The final solution was to save my Bookmarks do a complete uninstall of ff 3.16. including personal folder and do a complete clean install of FF 4 replacing the add-ons that worked now everything has been running fine.

I have never had a problem with IE 9 ( 32 Bit ) I do not use the ( 64 Bit) because numerous items do not run properly with it. I am sure you are all aware if you have W7 64 bit when you upgrade to IE9 it upgrades both the 32 bit and 64 bit

I also use pale moon which is a FF 3.6.15 clone. I also use Chrome latest deviant version have had no problems with these browsers

Think I will stick with Firefox version 3.6.12 for awhile.

Odd. Browsing some... 55 tabs on FF4 that's been open for a few days now. No problems with it.

55 tabs open, just what are you keeping 'tabs' on.

I just want one that works. I don't care which one it is. Except maybe Google's. If I use Revo to uninstall FF 3.6.16, it updated itself, run CCleaner then do a clean install of FF4 do you think it'll work? I don't want to have to mess around with three or four different browsers.

You could do all that, and it might work, but I'd guess you're better off following FF4's troubleshooting guide.

Start from the main help page (Menu Help->Firefox Help), follow the Basic Troubleshooting guide - it's not too long and covers many problem sources.

BTW, the ideas there apply to other browsers as well, you just don't get nice step by step instructions for those.

I did all that and it did work. I no dum dum.

Just go to oldapps.com and grab Firefox 3.6.12 and be done with it.

As in yes it works. The browser is fine.

No problem at all here with FF4--other than some non-updated app compatibility.  Chrome I have had issues with and it will be the last thing I do to try IE9--my thanks to the MS beta slaves who precede me
