Help, I've fallen and I can't get up.
Monday, February 14, 2011 by IROKONESS | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Hi, well I haven't really fallen, more of a stumble.
I received gmc2's gracious gift of my CS4, but, I alas, cannot open it. Yes, I know I said I love it. Nothings changed there, but the opening.
Here are my particulars... AMD Athlon (tm) 7750 Dual Core Proccessor, 2.70 GHZ Ram_4.00 GB (3.50) useable. [ram may be important, for lack of space?] Windows 7 Home Premium. Direct X11. Active X 64 bit. ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics
I place my CS4 cd in my pc, go to my C:\ folder area and find my CS4 in DVD RW Drive (D:) automatically. Then I dble click PS setup but, instead of opening the page gets transparent? Or I get install with Adobe setup.exe. But, it doesn't work. I checked Tweak 7 and it said Adobe is awaiting input or hung? Then asks force termination? yes or no. I've tried downloading CS4 trials but, there are non. Only CS5 trials out there.... I'm at a loss. I've tried Everything.
Does anyone know what I can do?
Thank-you ![]()

Doc ... this is great. Went and got the ISO and copied the instructions. Only when I click the link to download the UBCDfix.exe file it takes me to PendriveLinux.com and the .exe is nowhere to be found. At least I didn't see it.

You download the file, open it in Explorer and Move the UBCDfix.exe file to the iso.

You like that aye? ![]()
And yes Uvah, Acronis has done everything right so far. That's always a good sign.
But, back to CS4. I cannot open the Br.
Instead I get a little box that says Error 2:photoshop 11 is undefined. line : 1 ->photoshop11. invoke bridge (false, false"). I'm not sure where to start with that one. I will uninstall and reinstall.

I wouldn't do that. Just gumming up your registry. Just google "Adobe Bridge in CS4 Not installing correctly" or even better, the actual error itself.

I have CS4 safely tucked away in Acronis Non Stop Backup!

I opened the ISO in my download folder where all my dl's go. With I-ZARK I can click on it and it will show me the zips contents without unzipping it. There is no .exe in it. Then I unzipped it. I have all the folders in one marked ubcd.

There are a multitude of updates for CS4 from a fresh install state...have you done them?
Reply #75 Thursday, February 17, 2011 9:31 PM
Download the whole thing. The exe has to be in it or it would be a non functional program.

I have been doing alot of that. There is more to go I'm sure. My pc crashed a couple times. I'll watch that. I still haven't got Bridge going. But, on a fun side, I have spent a couple hours on a Ps tutorial about a Christmas ornament pic. When I have something to show off I'll hang the pic up.
I am really jazzed. This is fun.

Atta girl!
And honestly? Do you really need Bridge? I've got it and never use it.
HEY! Do you want to buy a Bridge....?

That Bridge gets around.
Talk about bridging that gap... ![]()

Bridge is very handy. It's like a file browser and organizer. If you are working with massive amounts of saved graphics, it is invaluable. There are updates to Bridge on the Adobe site. I would try updating it to see if that gets it going. I assume you had no problems registering and activating CS4? Good luck and am looking forward to your first big presentation!

As long as we're into stuff associated with PS I have a question. Image Ready. What is it used for? Every time I click on a .png Image Ready automatically picks it up.
