Over the past months, I've gathered some very neat links on Photoshop tutorials where you can learn great techniques. In the interest of the community, I thought it would be good to share some of these links with you

Mark is a twink. Be sure to stop by and tell him to shove his amazing CD up his rump (Yeah, I bought one. No, you shouldn't. Punching him in the mouth is a much more satisfying experience.).
NAPP (yes, it's P, not U. Replace "Users" with "Professionals".) has tutorials. Lots of other great things too. But of course you have to pay the membership fee to get to it. Considering you get a print mag, access to special deals and discounts, a site with a lot of goodies, and are made a member of a professional organisation (some places like hotels and such give you discounts or perks cos of this), it's a pretty good deal. Oh, if you sign up, put "Christopher Howell" in the referring member field. Thanks.
Mac Design ( http://www.macdesignonline.com/ ) is helpful. Has tutorials for PS, and some other apps. Mag is good too, if you don't cry every time someone says "peecee". Of course, you'll need to be able to translate the Mac shortcuts into the PC ones, but since I know all of you girls like to show your support to software developers and therefore actually BOUGHT Photoshop rather than pirating it like crap sucking monkeyboys, you have the manual, which makes this easy enough.
You'll also want to buy Scott Kelby's Down & Dirty Tricks ( http://www.downanddirtytricks.com/ ), and possibly the "WOW" book (which I haven't read, so I can't give a yay or nay on).
The KW PS vids are nice too ( http://www.photoshopvideos.com/ ). Got one for renewing my NAPP membership. Just keep in mind that they're TRAINING VIDEOS showing photoshop tricks and such (as opposed to some whizbang smoke and mirrors garbage that looks great but doesn't teach you jack) and you'll like them.
Word of advice: Screw with the instructions. People don't get good by following tutorials to the letter all the time. Play with layer settings, use different values, stuff like that. Most importantly, get that damned "I'm going to impress (group/person here)!" idea out of your head and do something you want to do and will enjoy doing. Happy mousing, boys and girls.

I've personnaly bought the WOW Book for PS 5/5.5 and it's a very great book. Lots of clear & useful tips & tricks. Definitely worth it's pennies.

I too have the WOW book and attented one of the authors seminars. I've found it well worth it.
And, as always, I see ess needs a little provoking to share his opinion with us.

It's odd, you'd think that people who claimed to have such great photoshop skills wouldn't on the whole have such ugly websites. I personally really like the design of phong - http://www.phong.com . It's something original and very neatly done, that doesn't look like it was thrown together in dreamweaver(spit) or frontpage(spit).

Hmmmm AJ, from your comments one would think that you were a professional art and website critic. Just because someone chooses to take the hard route and write code in notepad, doesn't make them any more of a man (or woman) than someone who uses DW or FP.
Did you write your own word processor or do you use someone elses? How about when you shave in the morning... use a manufactured razor or do you take the he-man path and do it with a dull Ginsu knife? When you create your skins/themes/wallpaper, do you use Skin Studio/DX/PS, or do you write the UIS/INI/BMP by hand?
My point is... everyone has different methods of accomplishing whatever it is they do. Some, like me, prefer to take the easy way out when possible because we've got 234 other responsibilities to tend to. DW doesn't mess up the HTML, funk up my ASP or Javascript code and it makes making changes quick and easy sometimes.

Dreamweaver rules Personnaly, it's my tool of choice for building web pages. But, as DWM pointed out, it's not what tool you use that count... it's the results. Anyway, by providing links to tutorials I personnaly appreciate, I didn't expect some people would take things to a personnal level. As a community, we should make sure we respect each other. Now, with so much good links published on this thread, let's try out some of the techniques and share our passion with the community
