You Don't See These Too Often

I hope these proud birds, the symbol of America, are truly making a comeback. Spotted this one in the trees across the river in front of my house.

I know Doc enjoyed this shot! Thought I would share it with all of you.

There are no shortage of Bald Eagles here in Canada, especially in BC and from my home Province of Nova Scotia. They use to gather in great number in my town because of the chicken processing plant. I guess they have an apatite for chicken guts so they are not to proud, lol

Can you eat them?
Probably tastes like chicken anyway...

When I was on the island in BC, I was escorted by a couple of Eagles up twisted Tamarac hill. My 94 Sonoma had an eagle escort halfway there with one. They were so close I could hear the flapping of those wings. Which their span was wider than my truck.
To have his mate continue the other half. Dinosaurs came to mind.
Awesome, seems so small a word to describe them. I'll never forget it.

For a very long time it was thought the Bald Eagle wouldn't make it but thanks to the discontinued use of DDT several years back these proud birds are indeed well on their way to recovery. Lets hope it stays that way.
