okay i just downloaded and installed XP are there XP skins and if so how do i set them up?

OK, just to be sure I understand, you have downloaded Windows XP, the actual OS, and you wish to get other skins than the 3 Luna ones that come with it, correct?
Then you need a software called WindowBlinds XP, but unfortunately it's still in beta and I don't think it's available as a standalone download yet. You would need for now to purchase the Object Desktop membership, which allows you to download almost every Stardock product, apha, beta, or retail for one year.

Actually, WindowBlindsXP *is* available as a standalone program.

Yeah. As a matter of fact, Stardock gets a nice little plug for WBXP over on Paul Thurott's (sp?) Windows Supersite (an extension of Windows2000 Magazine) with a link to the beta.

WebBlinds has long been available to the general public and it's not yet out of beta. There were many DesktopX betas available to the general public, also. There are probably other examples.

Webblinds is a freeware (adware). It's never intended to be part of OD, unless Frogboy changed his mind, but that's what I remember him saying about it when it came out.
I think the big hype going on right with the imminent release of WindowsXP probably has a lot to do with WBXP being offered in beta to the general public. And I don't blame them, Stardock would be fooling not to take advantage of the XP mania.

Every major Stardock product has been a beta to the public.

WindowBlinds was a public beta for a *year* before release.

DesktopX was a public beta for a year before release.

PocketBlinds is a public beta.

WebBlinds is a public beta. There is no "adverversing" in it.

WindowBlinds XP beta 5 is an XP optimized version of WindowBlinds 2.2.
