News Flash-Newbie need help

Ok, I know this is not going to be enough info. but every time I try to use DesktopX, I get to play with it for a few minutes, then it crashes on me. I've only tried the shareware version so I don't know if the problem is with the download or my computer. If it's just the download (from Stardock) then I'd gladly pay the $50.00. I just don't want to pay and find out it's a problem with my system. I have a 3yr. old Gateway PentII running Win98. Any help?

Have you still got the DesktopX 1.0 download? There was a leaky plugin in the default theme which could cause problems on 98. You need to download the updated DesktopX 1.0a to get the new plugin.

As PJ said... or, you can download and try a different theme which may or may not have the plugin in question.

Thanx! Wow to be honest I didn't expect a reply, you guys are so nice:).I'll download the 1.0a version (to be honest I don't know what version I had the last two times I downloaded) and try again. If that fails should I bite the bullet and buy it? or will that only be throwing money at the problem insted of fixing it?

PJ or someone else here can correct me if I am wrong but I seriously doubt that the demo version is any less stable than the retail version.

On another note... isn't it the modern way to throw money at problems?
