January Desktop Screenshots

Well happy new year everyone. I thought I would get the ball rolling with a new screenshot post seeing how December 2010 has left us.
Here is a new take on Solid State thanks to a new texture I made tonight. I now know how to do them, YEAH! The start menu and taskbar in this shot are not transparent. It is a schematic texture.

I decided to go a little minimalistic this time, but the message is still clear.

The background is the "Happy New Year" Dream by amitsaran.

I like that Scrofulous. What Winstep theme is that?

Thanks. Not Winstep though.
WindowBlind is SD7 by Vad-M as is the launchbar. Gee I miss his work being posted here.
Wallpaper is from the new Stardock theme, Ironworks.
The date and time are Simple Date and Simple Time DesktopX items.
The weather is a standard ObjectDock weather docklet with a transparant background.
I have then positioned the date/time/weather over the glass port thingie on the wallpaper.

Oh yes, and the meters on the Taskbar were mentioned in a Forum a few weeks ago. I forget now where I got them but someone will probably remember. Maybe http://www.thewindowsclub.com/ ?

Ah, very creative. I actually thought the time, weather and "glass port thingie" was a widget. It would make a nice widget wouldn't RND?

When I saw your first screenshot (steampunk theme) I thought of a wallpaper recently posted on DA.

Yes that would go lovely with it I bet.
You know this is off topic a little but I really wish we could see more skins like this https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/6410/
I like things with an industrial feel. Things like metal and rust and that sort of thing. One of the reasons I like that blind is because of the start menu shape. Most of the blinds made have the standard square shape. Those are great but for the most part they all look the same. Yes I know buttons may be different along with colors but they are all still square. I say make blinds like the link I posted and I will gladly pay for them. I just wish that one was updated because it does not work well with Windows 7.

Beautiful Rick. I see the towering clock in the background. The water looks so calm. Awesome ![]()
