Why does it do this? (SOLVED)
wracking my brains

It only happens when I load a skin other than Skinner Fuel 1. I get only a partial image.

I tried renaming it and that didn't work. If I upload it like this it could happen to someone else and that's not good. But in your case I'll make an exception. Dinkleberry.

I've seen that before too, and I don't know why it does that. I have noticed that it's related to the size of the SMX you had applied before that one. What I mean is, if the SMX you had applied before that one was smaller, it cuts it off like that.
What I do when that happens is exit out of SMX entirely and reopen it. That usually fixes it.

Thanks Xiandi. I'll give it a shot.
Didn't work. Exited all the way out and still it does it and it is related to the size of the previous skin which explains why it only shows correctly when I have version one up. I remember a long time ago encountering this problem but I'll be damned if I can remember the fix.

Maybe if you try to load the SMX without Object Dock running?

I doubt OD has anything to do with it. I can load version one without a problem regardless of which skin goes before it. It has to be something particular to this skin. But I'll give that a shot too. Can't hurt. If that does work I will know why.
OD has nothing to do with it. I still get the cut-off image. Would someone like to test it for me? I'm lookin' for a guinea pig.
BTW ... this tinyspell works pretty good.

That's okay WG. I got a bunch of 'em. I uploaded the skin hoping someone will see something I keep missing. I said I'd update it as soon as I find a fix. BTW ... what do you use? If you don't mind me asking.

And JuniorCrooks came through like a champ. Pointing out to me that the background itself was at fault and creating a whole new skin ... well, the same one ... but with a different name will fix it. So kudos to JC.

I'm curious as to what exactly the fix was...what was wrong with the background?
Reply #17 Thursday, December 30, 2010 9:48 AM
The background for both version one and two shared the same name. Didn't matter that there was a 2 at the end of the second one. The fix was to pull the skin, rename it then rebuild it from scratch under the new name. The way JuniorCrooks explained it the skin was picking up the background from the first one and sysmetrix of course couldn't tell the difference. That's why whenever a smaller skin was used before it the skin picked up that background because its own was ill defined. At least that's how it went. I'll be uploading it in a few minutes.
