Windowblinds Start Menu Search cursor oddity!

Hi guys and gals
I have noticed an issue with certain skins whereby the Start Menu 'search' cursor sometime appears off-center with the search box.
It doesnt do this for all skins, in fact, the only skin I have come across that NEVER exhibits this behaviour is 'stripe poker'.
The skin 'arsenic' amongst others does have this issue. Is it a skin design problem or a WB issue?

I get that too, even on my own skins. I've tried to adjust it to no avail. I dont think it's something that a skinner can fix...margins have no effect on it. However, I have noticed that once you click in the search box, the cursor centers itself (although not permanantly, only when it's active).

Yes, the same for me. Only when I click on the search box, the cursor aligns itself correctly.

I have discovered that the cursor alignment issue is only present after the skin has been applied. If you click out of the start menu and click back in, the cursor is correctly aligned (until the next time you click apply in WB7).
Oddly, the only skin to not have this issue AFAIK is Stripe Poker by vStyler.

It may be related to whether the skin has settings to move the search box - maybe the cursor doesn't quite catch up!

I believe it's connected to the height of the bottom part of the startpanel

I thought the same, so out came skinstudio and I started messing with the bottom part of the start menu panel, adjusting height and anything else that I thought might help, no luck I'm afraid.

right, so to this date the issue still remains. Does anyone know what might be the issue? Another skin that doesn't have this problem is the excellent 'team time'.

Are you using medium or large fonts?
