I take it you mean an icon that shows up in IE's favorites menu rather than the standard IE page icon? Like DeviantArt's icon?

Yes, that is correct.

Except it doesn't look like deviantART has a FavIcon, either.

Sure DA does. Gotta bookmark the root (www.deviantart.com) though.

I did bookmark the root, and still didn't get a FavIcon. I even ran it through FavOrg and it didn't find one, either.

Okay, just ran it through FavOrg again, and this time it got it. Must have had a hiccup last night when I tried it.

Pretty cool icon.

Alex, is there a 32x32 icon in the .ico file as well as the 16x16. Because places as a shortcut (32x32) the icon's colors seem distorted a bit.
Otherwise, it's very nice.

Tarkus,
What's FavOrg??? I like the idea of the icons but they ALWAYS seem to disappear from my system usually after a reboot...I know others have had the same problems but I've never come across a fix for this problem.

Anyone out there able to help???

yes people, favIcons are a good idea, yet as of today (IE 5.x) it just doesn't work right.

RobbieRobb: Search engines are your friends.

targus,
Thanks, I was just lazy...

I take it by e-roz's post there's still no definitive fix for the disappearing icon problem though???

RobbieRobb: No, I don't think so. I think IE stores FavIcons in the cache and they get purged along with everything else.

I just run FavOrg when I notice some FavIcons gone or if I haven't ran it in awhile, and that does the trick.

Yep, I just installed it and ran it. It didn't find the wincusto icon so I deleted the bookmark, logged out of here, re-accessed site, bookmarked it and there it was. Apparently it'll only do it from the default layout for some reason...

Nope, it worked for me, and I don't use the default.
