Guys and gals, I'm sure some of you have been wondering what has happened to our friend, Wizard1956. I know a few have asked and until now, I have been asked to keep a lid on it. Randy and Theda didn't want everyone knowing the have been having it a bit hard.
But just a few minutes ago, I talked to Wiz on the phone. He called to let me know that he'd be inaccessible until sometime next year, not for sure when.
A few weeks ago Wiz told me he would be losing internet due to his hours being cut. A week or so later, I decided to try calling him at work and was told he was let go. So he now has no job, no unemployment yet (pending), and no phone, TV, or internet. His wife's part time income barely keeps the rent paid and heat on. Things are progressively getting worse, and now he tells me his car is out of commission and his wife is walking to and from work. Oh, and food is scarce until he can get food stamps going. So even a walmart gift card would help...anything.
So, I guess I'm asking if anyone would like to send a card, a gift, or a small donation to help Randy and Theda with a little Christmas joy. I'm sure they would appreciate it, and so would I. I am sending a few bucks friday, just a small amount.
If someone would just send a Christmas card it would brighten their holiday. I'm sure it's a bummer being in this jam for the holidays.
Wizard has asked me to tell everyone at WC he says Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and that he will hopefully see us in a month or two.
If anyone wants to send him anything at all, a Christmas card, 5 bucks, a gift....anything...please PM me for his address. He has no bank account but can get small checks cashed at his wifes work.
I truly hope some of us can do something to cheer these people up for the holidays.
UPDATE....Wiz has opened a bank account so that he can get checks cashed. Those who have sent checks won't have to worry if he can use them.

Anyone who does not have a tag for the wall could use their avatar. Great idea on the tree.

I just found out, through one of you , that I am able to take a donation to my PayPal acct, then write a check to Wiz. So if there's anyone who wants to help, but can only do PayPal. I have that solution.

The size of BoXXi's tree could be reduced. I haven't seen Dave's tree and would love to.
Very good idea about the avatars, tazgecko! The tags are a lot larger, and Jim might have a problem stretching the avatars and shrinking the tags.
Jim, if you'll do the adding to the tree, I'll be more than glad to collect the tags and send them to you. Let me know. We still have time, but I'll get started collecting. I don't want to miss anyone who hasn't posted yet....but we'll need to set a deadline.

Doc, Dave and I have started already. We have a wall with 3 trees. I got your email with the tags. As for getting them small enough, I gather you saw my reply # 103. We were also thinking avatars might work better...lol..GMTA, huh. Doc, you set the deadline, post it here.
As for the paypal thing, I'm not used to it, but it appears to me that one only needs a paypal acct. and my email in order to send. Tom knows how. My info from paypal is ;
"The person sending you money needs to have a PayPal account.
When the sender fills in the Send Money form, they will need your email address. Make sure to give them an email address that is registered and confirmed on your PayPal account."
Anyone wishing to go that route PM me for my paypal email.

Yeah, I have a stack of pages here...lol.
Each page takes 6 sheets of paper to print...gonna be a bestseller!!

Welcome... if you need more help...you'll have no problems.
I'd only suggest that where you have avatars +pngs for the same people, use the png.
For the folks who haven't done a tag for the Community Wall, and want their personal tag on the Christmas card to Wiz and Theda, GET BUSY!
If we don't receive them 7 days, your Avatar will appear under the tree... like a present.

2ND Idea.
HUZZA!!!!!! YES! Big ole tree. I'd suggest sending Wiz my humongous ornament but the postage would astronomical. Not to mention needing one of those heavy lifters to move it. The tree is a wonderful idea. That ... a copy of this thread ... the Christmas cards and everything else. Yeah. Together we'll bring Wizard1956 and family one helluva Christmas!!! I love you guys!
