DesktopX crashes

Wednesday, July 18, 2001 by Dopey | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I get crashes switching between certain skins. For example, the Default one works originally, and then, if I switch to something else, say Lcars, it works, and then if I try to go back to Default (or any other, except a couple), it crashes. I tried to put this on the news.stardock.net board, but it didn't work.

Does anyone have any idea?

Yea, the default one has a resource leak with that CPU object. Kill that CPU object at the top right of it and resave the theme. You should be fine from there on.

Ok... so it is a loss of resources, correct?

cause it happens with quite a few, such as Aqua and others.

Should only be on that default one. What kind of crash are you getting on others? Keep an eye on resources though.

Mine keeps crashing too, "error in kernel32.dll" type thing, and the graphics get all garbled a lot of the time too. Also, Photoshop keeps crashing since I started using DX (yesterday), and you can imagine how I feel about THAT!

I get two different errors.

One is the cpu leak in Default, and that's fixed.

The other is the same as above, a crash in kernel32.dll, and I will post the error here later today.
