Nexus broke....
I did it with OD
Saturday, November 6, 2010 by Uvah | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
When I found out OD skins could be used by Nexus I loaded the ones I had and boom! Nexus froze up after I tried applying one of the docks. That one was one of the liteshow docks. I could not apply any of the skins. Couldn't shut it down except through task manager. Started it back up and it still didn't work. Did an uninstall then a reinstall but no change except one. It's stuck in the quick launch window and won't come out. It won't respond to right clicking either.

I searched the Gallery and found no "liteshow".
Give us a link to this skin.
Open your Explorer and under Winstep/backgrounds delete the background. Make sure you didn't try to load a program there, and if you left the .ini file in that "liteshow" folder, get it out.
Don't import the .ini's to Nexus. Use backgrounds only and make sure the files have the same name when you put them together.
In fact, uninstall the Nexus without saving settings and then reinstall after a reboot.
Did you try to load a Winamp skin there? That's the only 'litestep' I found with google.

The tiles are called Lightshow but it happened after I imported the docks. Lightshow I chose at random when Nexus froze and yes, I did a reboot after the uninstall and again after reinstalling Nexus. And no again to the Winamp skin. I don't have any of those. I'll do the delete then another uninstall and see what happens.

Before you bork your whole system, restore prior to doing all this.

Did the uninstall again without saving settings. Did the reboot and reinstalled Nexus. Thirty seconds later Nexus is back up and running. Take a look at the screen shot. The OD skin is up. I couldn't find any folder at all with backgrounds for Nexus. Looked where it is in program files (x86) and in the Winstep folder and no folder for backgrounds. Where does it store backgrounds. Oh ...almost forgot. When I tried to import a background Nexus only looked for zip files. I had to zip the ones I have in order to import them.

Doc is correct. Themes are: C/users/public/public documents/Winstep/Themes
.ini files are: C:\ProgramData

Found it. I took the ini out of plexi 3d and copied the folder to themes. Doesn'T show up when I changed the background.
