Hi. Is there some way to get the text on the start Menu to show a shadow or outline? Im running Win 7 64 and have Skin studio 7.

I appreciate any help.  Thanks.

There are a couple ways to tackle that.

You can change the font that is currently being used for the start menu, or you can create a new font and then set the start menu to use it.

Either way, you will need to do that in the 'Change Skin Fonts' section of Skinstudio.

you have to change how much shadow you want showing by changing the "X" and "Y" coordinates of the shadow. set them both to 1 to start off with. (it's called "shadow offset")

I hope this helps.

To have custom fonts (that support shadows) in you start menu you have to set the fonts on the panels sections and remove any font settings from the start menu "menu item" section as they cannot be used together.

One point: Set font on the start menu panels instead of set them on the menu items is not the best method as this is the old XP way, Windows Vista and Windows 7 skin the start menu in a different way and also threat its fonts in a different way, use the old method can cause issues in other areas that will use the same font settings (Jump lists and All programs list for example), I would use the text setting directly in the start menu panel only if really necessary.
