Cannot load blank theme... or start a new one

I haven't been able to load a blank Destop X theme or start a new one. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no results. I am using the latest beta. Any suggestions?

OK, thanks! I was thinking that like HTML, deleting stuff leaves artifacts. But for now, it works fine for me and I am no artist. It's only for me.

I've been in there before, and it used to be more confusing. But I just looked and ***surprise***... I am starting to understand it. I guess, even manipulating the folders and stuff like I did makes me feel braver.

Follow up:
Getting ready to do that other thing and thought I would back up some files. When I looked into the DX folder, I found three set of some things, two sets of others. So I consolidated everything into only one appropriate folder for each category and deleted the spares. No more problem.
I think what happened was when I did a system restore, it made extra folders and then new updates didn't really know where to install.
