Saving Information

Friday, June 22, 2001 by Jim | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Hello, this weekend I plan on doing some upgrade on my PC, and at the same time, doing a clean install of Win98se. What is the best way to save Component Manager, everything else within it, I'd like to do a fresh download for, the artwork thats been downloaded can be saved to a CD.
Just how much of Object Desktop do I need to save, I did ask this at the Stardock news group, but a to large a portion of it, I did not understand.

Thank you.

from the wording i'm not quite sure if you -want- to freshly re-download all the components (like windowblinds) or not..

if you want fresh downloads of the components:: easy format away.. then just re-download the component manager first.. pretty small dl. have your reg info ready.

if you want to retain all your current components (to save dl time, perhaps?):: use the 'backup' button to archive them on your media of choice. again, don't worry about the component manager - just re-download it after you re-install windows. then, use the 'restore'

cool?

Thank you, yes I want to do a fresh download of all the components. How will this happen, I remember downloading something after signing up, how will it work if not reg.

Again thank you very much.
